darker then i expected when poured ...deep ruby color. nose of mostly malty overtones. flavor continues with a bit of sweet rock candy toffe malt bit going on. subtle infusion of ballsy hops to push a bit of fruit. better then i thought it would be.

Amber body with no real head. Weird maltiness to it that I haven’t tastes before. Finishes smooth. Overall a decent beer
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 HighWine (506) - Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA - MAR 2, 2012
Dark amber pour with minimal beige head that fades quickly. 2. Light fragrance of carmel malt 6. Taste is surprising. I was expecting sweetness but got a mouthful of dark coffee and potting soil (in a good way). Very roasty mid palate followed by big hoppiness. 18. This is extremely well done and unexpected. Medium mouthfeel. 3. O: 18

A Mes rate. Tap at Cambridge. Red amber, no head. Not the prettiest thing. Much better in the mouth. A slightly sweet, candi sugar and vanilla accented amber beer. Decent bitter finish. Solid stuff.

Good amber, one of the better ones I’ve had. A little more body than the typical amber, well-balanced, pretty good.

Strikingly aromatic of caramel malts, a lot more than you’d expect from a typical amber... Flavor is sweet caramel malts with notes of toffee, well balanced, nice tasting amber

Clear copper red beer, creamy but unstable light beige head, non adhesive. Aroma: caramel, nutty, buttered toast, red ripe fruits. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: tart start, some red berries, lemony, fruity, soft bitter, toast, nuts, some caramel. Aftertaste: roast, grapefruit, red berries.

A: The beer pours dark amber in color with a finger of off-white head.
S: Strong toasted malt and toffee aromas, quite a bit of bread to it, too. Just a very, very light hop aroma to this, mostly floral in nature. A few notes of red fruits, maple a bit of sweet apple, too.
T: The flavor is fairly similar with a very faint hop profile. Some floral notes with a light bitterness. Some toasted malt and bread as well as the toffee flavors.
M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
O: Fairly simple/basic/plain amber ale. Not bad in anyway, but it didn’t do much for me either.
2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 kramer (3455) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 1, 2011
Tap, at brewpub. Pours a clear dark amber with a minimal off-white head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is dry toasty malt with minimal to no hops. The flavor is laced with diacetyl unfortunately, and it totally ruins it. No hops in here to help cover it up either. Slick, slightly clingy body with light fizzy carbonation. Yuck.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20 TheGent (513) - , Massachusetts, USA - MAR 27, 2011
a pitcher of this shared at CBC. Deep amber color with a light sweet malt aroma. Really this is a session beer that just gives a light caramel malt taste int he finish. But great full body to it with some bread and yeast tastes coming up on the burp
