Real change is here! No longer will American beer lovers be forced to choose between those quirky, eccentric beers of Belgium or the explosively flavorful IPAs of the United States. We have brewed the change we have been waiting for! Liberally hopped to an audacious degree, our Belgian Double IPA reaches across the aisle to bridge the seemingly contradictory brewing philosophies of the old world and new. Our beer uses generous portions of Pilsner and Vienna malts to give it its hazy golden color and rocky white head. Two independent dry hop additions of Simcoe, Chinook, Amarillo, Hallertauer, and Spalt put aside their differences to form a delicious coalition. Floral grassiness dominates the nose with fruity hints of bright citrus well represented. Its subtle spicy flavor comes from a Belgian yeast as well as generous doses of German hops in the kettle. These aggressive flavors are complemented by a determined bitterness and a full but dry finish. All of these characteristics come together in a nonpartisan spirit of cooperation to form a beer that is both righteously flavorful and drinkable. Enjoy! IBU: 70+ OG: 1.076 FG: 1.008 ABV: 8%

Light orange pour with plenty of carbonation. Lacing hangs out for a bit. Nice clove front end with a bitter, hoppy finsh. Very nice blend of the two styles, Belgian and IPA.

Bottle from Kihoskh, Copenhagen - fuzzy glowing orange pour with medium white head. Aroma and taste is prominent citrus fruity and floral and herbal hoppy, minerals, zesty citric lemon, yeasty, pine and herbal hoppy notes, some fruity spice, dry finish. Interesting brew, and pretty tasty.

Flaska. Söt med ett dammigt inslag!! Sedan något kemisk vid sväljögonblicket. Godis smak av gelehallon sedan en riktigt dammig torr beska. Speciell öl!

Flarra. Doftar vetemjöl, lite metall. Smakar först banan som snabbt går över i lite dålig räka. Denna smak försvinner fort å rätt rejäl dammig träig torrhet infinner sig. Jävla udda .

Bottle: a bit of a former. Spicy herbal hops with light fruit and a touch too much malt. Just ok for me.

Ok dipa but not great. Hazy orange. Pine aroma. Strong overly malty flavor. Not a great combination of hops and malt. Something not quite balanced. Acidic aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Maybe I got a bad bottle, based on the other soaring ratings here. Mine volcanically exploded as soon as I lifted the cap, like a high school science experiment. The pour was similarly, overly airy, the head somehow both towering and watery thin. Each successive pour into my goblet was difficult to keep in the glass. That said, the beer had a decent flavor, gritty with herbal audacity, indeed. A bit thin for my humble tastes. Overall, not nearly worthy of the lofty number I see before me, but a pleasurable sipper. (#6007, 7/24/2015)

Tallahassee, Fl. - Quick ’N Save - 22 oz bomber. Slightly hazy, medium golden pour, pillow-like snow white head, nice film of lacing. Spruce-like aroma, hint of spearmint. Classic IPA flavor, nice citrus bitterness, some caramel sweetness, a bit of mango-like fruitiness. some Belgian-like candii sugar notes. Nice thickish mouthfeel. Pretty solid, as all from CBC have been so far.

Botella de 65 cl en el lupulo en julio 2013. (r222) Lote 03 embotellado en 06-2012. Una doble iba estilo belga algo más dulce de la cuenta. Cuerpo medio de 8 vol. No está mal.

Pours clear golden with a fairly thick and frothy eggshell head. Hoppy aroma has a strong fruity overtone, mainly citrus with some pear, and a malty underpinning. Flavor is hoppy and fruity, just a little bitter, with hints of evergreen wood and sweetish malt. Mouthfeel has average body but strong, sharp and persistent fizz. Maybe not audacious, but certainly hoppy.
