3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Smells highly of strong malts with hints of citrus hop scent in the back. Slightly hazy golden color. Brew starts off a bit water then the sweet strong malts come out followed by a nice dose of bitter hop flavor finishing off with dry and a bit rough end. Medium body with insane carbonation. Lovely floral hints in the taste and smell a great mix Deffinantly something different. Nice work!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 0,65 from Kihoskh. Pours a bit unclear orange with large creamy white head, with good retention and some nice lacing. Hops, yeast, citrus, orange peel, grassy, some pine, pepper, basement dusty. Sweet taste with some bitterness in the aftertaste. Full body, oily texture and on the low side of average carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(65 cl bottle from Kihoskh; BBD: August 31st 2017) Poured at 15 degrees into a Maisel & -friends footed tulip reveals a hazy amber with two finger, creamy white head. Good retention and beautiful lace. Aroma is withered hops with notes of leaves and pepper as well as something funky/slightly tart remniscent of bret or Belgian yeast. Oily texture, medium carbonation and body and a lingering spicy finish. Flavour follows the nose but has more of the Belgian character. Decent.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks Andy. This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange with a decent transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising to fill a quickly dissipating one finger white foamy head. Lacing is bubbly/foamy.
The smell takes on semi-sweet qualities from some citrus, peaches, light grass. Semi-bitter light citrus rind and grassy hops.
The taste was moderately sweet with a decent balance from the citrus, peach and grassiness. Definitely a dry floral/grassy aftertaste. Quick dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a decent sessionability to it. Carbonation feels fairly low.
Overall, initially, I thought this was a Belgian IPA, well, how about that, it’s more of an imperial IPA. Still, I’d have again, good stuff.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle (brewed by Mercury in Ipswich). Head is initially average sized to large, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow, unfiltered. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs, lemon oil, grass, grapefruit), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of pepper, dried pineapple, lemongrass, mint, gum. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic, lightly astringent.
One of the best "Belgian IPAs" I’ve had, probably...a style I rarely find decent examples of. What it gets the most right is the balance of those two styles...it’s got equal IPA character and Belgian ale character, and both are quite apparent and enticing. The Belgian nuances aren’t at all the artificial/overdone bubble gummy cotton candy variety so common in American versions. Herbal-floral-citrusy hops and spearmint gum and fruity esters invite sip after sip. And no stupid adjuncts to mess it up. Great flavor balance too...lip-smacking with nice yeasty tartness and clean bitterness. The bomber was gone before I knew it. And Mercury didn’t mess it up either. So...bravo indeed to all concerned. No clue how old the bottle is, though, so age may be a factor in this sample. Given that I bought this in Maui suggests it is not very fresh. But the yeast sediment was very fine, and I obtained it at Whole Foods, so it’s probably not too terribly old. Would absolutely buy again.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured a deep slightly hazy gold with a thick frothy white head. Aroma was mostly that Belgian ale-like fruitiness. some indistinct dark fruits, cloves, possibly berries of some kind. Body was medium to heavy. Definitely a healthy amount of hops but very nicely balanced.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Light orange pour with plenty of carbonation. Lacing hangs out for a bit. Nice clove front end with a bitter, hoppy finsh. Very nice blend of the two styles, Belgian and IPA.
