Malt and some citrus in the aroma. Flavor is pretty standard ESB, with malt balanced by bittering hops. Mouthfeel is watery. I tend to love ESBs, but this one’s pretty bleh.

Shaker pint pour at the brewpub in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Pour is a light haze, copper golden with not too much of an off white head. Despite this, nice lacing left behind. Aroma is soft crystal maltiness along with a soft floral hoppiness – flowery resin, not bitter. The taste is the crystal malt right away, followed by a nice resin floral. Nice integration of flavor. Palate is medium to thin, lower carbonation, crisp clean finish. Nice one.

Tap @ Cambridge Commons... Poured orange-ish with a white head. Hops on the nose with big time grains. Light palate and very drinkable. Crisp, cracker-like malts and a tiny bite of hops with a citrus-like and bitter finish.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 GeneralGao (3545) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - MAY 4, 2009
Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear medium orange color. The head was white with good retention and lacing. Smelled of flowery hops, Ritz Crackers, and toffee in roughly equal proportions. Light to medium bodied and delicately sweet with mild bitterness. Pleasant mix of caramel and flowery hop flavors. Carbonation was appropriately on the lower end of the spectrum.

Pours a clear golden color with a thin white head. Interesting aroma of floral, fruity hops. Interesting flavor of floral and fruity hopsd. Not bad but the hops could be more expressive.

On tap. Pours a cloudy golden with frothy white head. Aroma is a bready, grassy and soft with a little hops. Very nice. Flavor is yeasy, bready and a little citrus. Finishes bitter. Rather thin body, but this is a good session beer. Get the "tower".
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 auerbrau (2665) - Peace Dale, Rhode Island, USA - APR 15, 2008
On cask with Amarillo hops at the brewpub.. Lightly butterscotch nose. Some weird caramels. Hmmm. Pours a mid-copper, lightly hazed with a gold fringe and rim of silky white. Flavor falls mostly flat. A dead sugary mess. Some bright, penny-like english hops, a wash of biscuit, and sweet honey. Cask isn’t keeping this one alive tonight. More butterscotch, a touch of toffee and stale tea. Too sticky and flat. Just too flat, even for a cask beer. Oaky. Hops glow a little more interesting in the back, but this beer is not well built. Nothing I’d want to quaff much of. English yeasts dapple in a bit of character building esters, but it’s too late. I’m already dis-interested.

Cask at GBBF 2007. A hazy dark golden beer with a bubbly orange head. The aroma is sweet hoppy which gives it notes of grass, as well as with notes of alcohol and yeast. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of yeast and oranges, leading to a quite bitter finish. The body is thin.
