UPDATED: APR 26, 2010 On tap at the 2009 Great Pumpkin Festival, Cambridge Brewing Company, Cambridge MA on 31 October 2009. Almost black with a lasting beige head. Dry cocoa powder, coffee grounds and macciato on the nose. Not much evidence of things to come on the palate. Which was a huge tabasco chilli burn with just a vestige of dry chocolate poking through. Supposedly cinnamon in the recipe but completely submerged beneath the chilli heat. Good aroma but the chilli flavour is too harsh, making it a difficult beer to appreciate, analyse or enjoy. Not my thing. On the plus side, this was the 4th beer of the festival and no sign of a pumpkin spice bomb yet.
