COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep and dark, full-bodied and robust, our Porter is crammed full of rich roasted malt character. With underlying notes of fruitness, caramel, and toffee, it finishes with a strong hop presence.

Pours black into a shaker. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Charred toffee and espresso aromas. Dark chocolate and dark pit fruit upfront turning to espresso in the bitter hop finish.

On tap at the brewery. Dark brown pour with a kaki head. Robust dark roasted malt aromas. A bit watery but with big dark roasted malt, bitter chocolate, and toffee notes. Average mouthfeel with bitterness from the malts.

(Rating #5536)

Pours dark tan with an average amount of frothy tan head. Aromas of caramel, roasted malt, and a bit of bittersweet chocolate. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet with an average duration and a medium body. Very drinkable enjoyable porter

Nice dark brown pour. Relatively light on the roasted aroma, fairly well hopped with an American profile for a porter. Sweet with floral hoppiness to the flavor. Charred malts really show up only in the aftertaste. Amazing palate, quite easy to drink and refreshing. Would be nice on a hot day. Overall a really good porter, and available for only about $5 (damn good for Boston!)

On the draft the brewery, I had the cask offering of this with centennial hops, good roasty flavors, rich and creamy, like it a lot

Opaque brown with full tan head, broad swirls of lace. Taste is caramel malt with a dash of black coffee moving hand in hand to a politely bitter finish. Starts easy, grows magnificently. A meal in itself (maybe add havarti cheese and English crackers), excellent for sipping.

Cask from brewpub. Was told this version was hopped with cascade. Pours black with a huge froth head and tons of lacing. Great beer to look at. Big roasted bitterness, some chocolate and dark fruit with maybe a hint of grapefruit. Tastes were big bitter and heavy sweet. Creamy body with med/low carbonation. Really great beer.

Draft at the brew pub. 5 oz taster. Nose is almost nothing at all. Light weak roast at best. Taste is average. Chocolate malt, light espresso notes. Roasted barley. The finish doesn’t really longer. It’s short and dry. Average without any problems.
