COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep and dark, full-bodied and robust, our Porter is crammed full of rich roasted malt character. With underlying notes of fruitness, caramel, and toffee, it finishes with a strong hop presence.

Had on tap at the brewpub. Poured a dark brown color with faint aroma of caramel and chocolate. Taste was of roasted malts and caramel with a light coffee flavor involved.

Cask from brewpub. Was told this version was hopped with cascade. Pours black with a huge froth head and tons of lacing. Great beer to look at. Big roasted bitterness, some chocolate and dark fruit with maybe a hint of grapefruit. Tastes were big bitter and heavy sweet. Creamy body with med/low carbonation. Really great beer.

Draft at the brew pub. 5 oz taster. Nose is almost nothing at all. Light weak roast at best. Taste is average. Chocolate malt, light espresso notes. Roasted barley. The finish doesn’t really longer. It’s short and dry. Average without any problems.

Almost black in color with sticky tan lacing. Roasted nutty and coffee notes. Smooth roasted mouth feel with coffee bean feel.

Draft in a sampler at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown color with a small beige head. Notes of coffee, cocoa, toast, nuts, and milk chocolate candy. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a roasty, sweet mouthfeel and a dry, toasty finish. Solid porter.

Decent porter, pretty standard, nothing really jumping out at me, but all in all better than average, nutty smokey flavor to it.

Cask at GBBF. Very dark brown beer, just about transparent. Softish palate. Rich malt with a light roast. Well hopped. Not bad, perhaps a bit hoppy.

Smell like a porter, but too American for me, I mean, its dryness and astringency are too much in evidence.

Tap at the brewery. Dark brown pour with a thick light brown head that laces really well. 5. Nose of French Roast coffee and vanilla extract. 8. This is one of the best porters I’ve had. Ever-so-slightly sweet up front with BIG roasty flavors after that. The hops blend perfectly well to round out the flavors and keep this from being much more than one dimensional. 8. Slippery in the mouth and a nice lingering strong coffee flavor. 4. O: 18

On draft at the brew pub. Almost black color. Coffee, nuts, with a nice roastiness.
