Back by popular (and incessant) demand, its CBCs most sought after seasonal beer! The Great American Pumpkin Ale flows from the taps all Autumn long, through Thanksgiving, Brewed with over 150 pounds of fresh, locally grown, organic sugar pumpkins in each batch, (from our friends at The Farm School in Athol and Wilson Farms in Lexington!) it has an appropriately ruddy orange hue. The subtle pumpkin flavor is enhanced by the addition of traditional autumn spices, and is guaranteed to please even the most finicky of the harvest-time ale fanatics. Come raise a glass in honor of the Great Pumpkin!

Sent to me by Strykzone. Thanks Dave. I see I liked this better than you did. Pours copper with an off-white head. Nose of pumpkin pie spices. A hint of vanilla. Medium body. Flavor has cinnamon and nutmeg and of course pumpkin. Finishes with a lot of spice. Good.

Bomber. Copper with some cloudiness. A decent head. Pumpkin and pie spices in the aroma. First sip is very tart bitter hops. Is there a Pumpkin IPA style? Hops are very big for the style and could be reduced. Not really a fan.

Second bottle to finish off MNF. Orangey brown small head. Nose is light pumpkin, hint of spice, and barnyard. Tastes of nutmeg, caramel, light dough, some sugar pumpkin, touch of herbs. Medium bodied and smooth. All right.

From the 650 ml. bottle. 2015 batch. Orange-amber pour with long lasting off-white head. Decent clarity. The aroma is subdued with hints of pumpkin spice and sweet malts but nothing that jumps out at me. The body is about medium. The taste has some subtle pumpkin and yam characteristics but nothing that is overly explosive. Mild bitterness to finish.

While picking this up the clerk at the store compared it to Jackie Os autumnal seasonal. Personally I would much rather have some Barking Pumpkin. The promise of a solid fall release dissolves over the course of a pint until you wonder what happened to the rest of the recipe. Perhaps the time of the pumpkin seasonal is not here yet.

Aroma / Appearance - A warm walnut base retains an orange hue. Paired with the creamy vanilla head it looks like dying embers in a fire pit. Pumpkin pie, whipped cream, and other sweet aspects pin this firmly in the "dessert" end of the seasonal spectrum.

Flavor / Palate - A carbonated mouthfeel bounces around the mouth with a changing profile of squash, vanilla, ice cream, and cool crust. The light body may be due to the low ABV. Even so it fades so quickly that you wonder if there should be more. Future sips do little to add complexity. Overall this promising beer falls short of being a repeat purchase.

22 oz bottle. Pours hazy amber orange with a medium fizzy creamy head that goes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is sweet malts and cinnamon.

The flavor is sweet sugary malts, some vegetal notes and cinnamon. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and a bit watery.

Overall, a bland pumpkin, and very restrained.
