COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Back by popular (and incessant) demand, it’s CBC’s most sought after seasonal beer! The Great American Pumpkin Ale flows from the taps all Autumn long, through Thanksgiving, Brewed with over 150 pounds of fresh, locally grown, organic sugar pumpkins in each batch, (from our friends at The Farm School in Athol and Wilson Farms in Lexington!) it has an appropriately ruddy orange hue. The subtle pumpkin flavor is enhanced by the addition of traditional autumn spices, and is guaranteed to please even the most finicky of the harvest-time ale fanatics. Come raise a glass in honor of the Great Pumpkin!

Pours a cloudy orange with light frothy head. Aroma is sweet, spicy, with notes of pumpkin throughout. Flavor is light to moderately sweet with a bitter herbal finish. Overall a pretty average pumpkin beer but still tasty.

Nice orange, yes even pumpkin hue. Cinnamon, ginger, little earthy funky on the nose. In the mouth surprisingly blah. Spices don’t carry through. Not a lot of pumpkin. A bit of dirt carries through but on the whole rather bland for a pumpkin ale, and sorry of boring for a ale period.

Bottle:   Darker shade of orangish straw, pale haze, thin to moderate frothy white head, spotty lacing.   Subtle malt on the nose, barely any spices.   Does have some sort of real pumpkin or gourd aroma, but its subtle.   Soft maltiness up front, lacks much depth in terms of spices, but its at least clean.   I can see this as an Autumn ale has it has a very soft indistinguishable spice that reminds me of an autumn floral bouquet during thanksgiving.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Snoozer of a finish.   Surprised this is that light for a Great Pumpkin Ale, coming in at only 4.4%.   Pretty boring, unfortunately.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2013 Not too much pumpkin, not too much anything. Smooth and refreshing, this pours a clear deep amber with no head retention. Easy to consume, won?t annoy like most pumpkin ales.

A very good pumpkin ale. This one is all about the pumpkin. Pumpkin through and through. Mediim body. The spices are very light and the pumpkin shines. I’d like to see a double version of this.

Draft. Pours golden orange with a white head. Pumpkiny sweetness, pumpkin spice, and some lingering malty sweetness. Good stuff.

Hazy orange-brown pour with a 2 finger, creamy, soapy off white head. Aroma is caramel, pumpkin pie spice, pumpkin, light roast, cereal, hints of rustic grain and light spicy, floral and citrus hops. Flavor is full of cereal up front, then nice caramel, light toffee nuts, sweet and earthy pumpkin, light pumpkin pie spice, mostly ginger and allspice, a hint of earthy roast hay and herbal, floral and spicy hops. Light, creamy body with a light, blanketing and playfully wavy on the tongue carbonation. Really great stuff, not only great for a pumpkin beer, but an awesome session ale as well with plenty of flavor and a great mouthfeel at in an easy going and 4.4%abv package.
