A hoppy expression of a Belgian tripel.

In short: A slightly wild Belgian golden ale with a truckload of American hops. Excellent.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy orange body topped by an off-white ring of foam
In long: The pleasant nose has fruity yeast esters, floral and fruity hops as well as a little wilderness to top it off. Tasty is complex. Yeasty, moderately fruity with no single fruit flavour dominating, very hoppy, medium-high bitterness level, a light funky sourness. Full body and lively carbonation. This is an original and very tasty beer. Taking a Belgian blonde ale and hoping it like an American IPA is a cool new trend, and to me it is the slightly wild nature of this one that makes it stand above the crowd. This Jedi Mind Trick has a lot of class, as do the Jedis. A normal dude would have said “Luke I banged your mother”. Not a Jedi, too much class for that.

Draft at Ebenezer’s. Yellow gold with nice dense head and lace. Sweet lemon pastry and yeasty melon with mild banana aroma. SWeet melon and lemon citrius with yeasty lemon pastry and very dry herbal hoppy finish. Nice soft carbo. I’m a sucker for hoppy herbal tripels. Excellent.

Included in sampler flight. Sitting at the brewpub with a sampler flight in front of me as I type. This is a seasonal that is actually really good, hopefully they keep it around for awhile. It is hard to define. Closest to a belgian tripel but different, hence the name. Pours light golden with white head that leaves a nice lacing on the tulip glass. Bannana, clove and something else. I like this.
