Commercial Description:
A beer that could, in the vaguest sense, be considered a Belgian-style “Singel.” More than simply a low-alcohol table beer, however, L’amour du Jour brings a very rare finesse to the realm of the biere de table . Lovingly crafted of the finest FrancoBelgian pale malts and gently hopped with Saaz, it is finished with fragrant contributions of lavender, sweet orange, and jasmine flowers. At once unusual and yet very drinkable, L’amour du Jour offers a bright and crisp malty palate, followed by a balanced fruity finish with a lingering perfumed scent. Sound like CBC’s first ever “chick beer"? Perhaps, but any male secure enough in his masculinity will certainly impress with his ability to appreciate this flavorful, delicate, artisanal ale. À votre santé ! OG: 1.050 FG: 1.009

Beau ton oranger d’apparence partiellement voilée.

sampled at the brewpub, cloudy amber gold color, with a white head, notes of spicy lavender, jasmine flowers, candied orange peels fruitiness, pale malt, and note of coriander in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a a sweet spicy lavender character, flowery hop note, nice jasmine accent, with a smooth display of perfums, with a pale malt leading towards a fruity finish.

On tap at the pub. Bright golden orange color, medium head and lace. Smells a lot like ricola, with lemon, mint, lightly hopped, other herbs and flowers. Overall this beer feels like a gruit, so if you like that style, you should go for this. Has a light and refreshing body with lively carbonation, somewhat oily with a wheat feel at times. I enjoyed it, and that’s what matters most.

On Tap at the brewpub. Clean clear pour of oranged gold, with a sweeping soapy head of clean white. Rich aromatic glow of tarragon vinegar with heavy soaps of coriander and clove and rosemary sprigs. Genuine. A slight mingling of floral italian pizza seasonings. Flavor is a sweet gentle floral breeze of tart lemons in stew, and a heart of pizza dough. Wafts of sweet grains in rose petals. Very ethereal, restricted with light smacks of tangerine and heavy rosemary. Quite efferevescent and bright. More dough. Some light lemon rinds. A little too thin bodied, but expectable.
