WTF happened to this? Minerally and flat. Vague hop finish. Presumably I got the end of the cask.

Cask, gravity, at St Neots Beer Festival ’11. Very dark brown with a small off white head. Sweet old fashioned malt aroma. A little honey sweetness and a touch of butter. Very nice, but the taste impressed me less. It was ashy and composty with some well rotted grass and some dryness.

Cask in the Wenlock Arms. Alround rating: Roasty and lightly burnt malt, grassy hop comes through its fairly thin but just when im getting burned a small honey character comes through and saves it a bit. Alright.

Cask-conditioned at the Wenlock Arms, London 17/12/09. Near black in colour with a slight,off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts with some dark fruit. Easy drinking with more roastiness, a faintly sour edge and bitter finish. Good.

A Mes rate. Cask at the Wenlock Arms.
Murky dark brown with a thin off white head. Big roasty chocolate malt all round. Gloriously smoky, eminently quaffable, faint sourness, lovely lick of fruit in the finish. A bloody excellent mild.
