COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A collaborative brew from CBC and Allandale Farms, Boston’s last working farm. 200# of organic blue hubbard squash and 35# of honey from Allandale’s hives combine with Belgian malts and our house Belgian yeast to make a unique "pumpkin Saison." Unspiced.

Tap, brewpub. Pours a clear copper with a small covering of off-white head. The nose is sweet with honey, light spice, and some light pumpkin-like notes. Some light yeastiness. The flavor is pretty subtle, some light pumpkin, a little caramel sweetness, but not sticky. A bit of Belgian character, but not yeasty or ’farmhouse’ like. Fairly full bodied with some clingy sweetness. Caramelized pumpkin meat? A little too heavy for a classic Saison. Interesting beer.

Amber pour. The nose is odd. Very vegetal with a lot of dishwater and some bland sort of Belgian spice. Watery palate with little real saison character. Dry but quite lifeless. Meh.

Amber/orange pour with a fluffy white head. Aroma is summer squash, herbal hops, grass, some hay, light yeastiness. I actually get some squash notes in this, nice vegetative saison with spicy yeastiness, pumpkin seed, yeasty. A bit odd, but nice.

(Draught) Pours a clear orange body with a medium off-white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of squash, light clove, florals, and honey. Flavor of honey, citrus, grain, melon, and squash.

Pouring at session one of Belgian Beer Fest in Boston. Pours a clear golden orange with a thin white head. Soft floral squash aromas right up front. Nice and spicy, clean squash flesh. Tastes great, nice and clean, very authentic. Yummy stuff.
