Dark copper-to-ripe peach-colored body shows minimal haze and a small, white head that fades quickly to a ring.
In the nose there’s a fair bit of oak and strong fruitiness (black cherry, peach, nectarine). Definitely can pick out the light butteriness from the chardonnay, while the brett shows off plentiful limeskin and other tart notes that work well balancing the sweet/sour buttery oak/acetic character. No alcohol or flaw.
Very strong fruity notes emerge initially, cherries, peaches, strawberries and there’s a good helping of tart brett that in turn succumbs to a moderately sweet amber-like maltiness with caramel wrapping itself about the buttery oak. A lot going on here, but it seems maybe a bit too jumbled and the heavy fruitiness, buttery oak and malt sweetness all seem to pull the beer in different directions. Texture is lightly slick/buttery/oaky with soft, but mostly tight carbonation. Certainly making it sound worse than it actually is and it’s still an interesting little beer, just outdone by a number of the other delicious beers on for this fest.

Reddish orange. No head aroma is faint but I get a little plastic. Grapes, nuts, lemon? Fig and peaches. Fleeting finish with some caramel.

draft at brewery, couldnt finish it. it was a very sweet biere de garde with a tiny bit of brett. This is one of the best increasingly undrinkable per sip. Meh damn.

Aroma is overripe fruits, some cheesy funk and candy apple. Taste is up front very fruity but finish is very sweet and sticky and hard to drink.

On tap at the brewpub. Deep cloudy orange pour with a medium off white head. Aroma of yeast, barnyard and candied sugar with strong oak notes.

On tap at the brewery. Cloudy amber pour with a white head. Light citrus aromas. Moldy sour peach and nectarine notes with malty undercurrents. Tangy, but not overly tart. Interesting. This batch has an ABV of 7.8%. Average body and mouthfeel.

Tap at CBC. Aroma of big fruity apricot and green grapes. Reminiscent of barrel aged upright beers. Sweaty over ripened pear Brett. Tasty. Fun to drink. Menu says 7.8% abv.

Draft at the brew pub. 5 oz taster. Nose is funky oak and Brettanomyces, good amount of funk. Taste is mostly the same with a bit of musty hay. Mouthfeel has a mild Puckering affect. Medium in body with a slightly drying texture. Decent. Well worth a try if you enjoy Brett.

On tap at the Night of the Funk 2012. Old socks, manure, rotten grass, and acetaldehyde lead to hints of really poorly made mead. The only beer at the fest I couldn’t choke down.
