3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 womencantsail (3927) - Home of Rebecca Black, California, USA - OCT 6, 2011
A: The pour is a clear light golden straw color with a small white head.
S: Not that great of a nose for a "kolsch". Sweet cereal grains with a heavy corn aroma. The hop aromas are mild at best, just a light floral note. Some bread character to it, but not much.
T: Same story for the flavor. Heavy on the grain/corn flavors and sweetness. Minimal hops with very little bitterness (the latter of which actually is a good thing). Bland overall.
M: Light bodied with medium carbonation.
O: Just way too plain and bland. Not very good flavors or aromas that are there.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 kramer (3455) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 1, 2011
Tap, at brewpub. Pours a clear pale gold with a minimal white head. Light nose, a little bready malt and a touch of sulphur. The flavor is fairly weak, seems like there’s a bit of corn in here as well. Some light doughy and bready maltiness and light fruity ale yeast on the finish. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, a touch clingy, with fizzy carbonation. OK beer, but comes across as a bit bland.

On tap at CBC. A pretty standard example of the style. Golden pour with a small white head. Aroma is pale malt and grain with herbal notes and slight citrus. Flavor is mildly sweet and mildly bitter, dominated by grainy pale malt, with some lemony and herbal hop notes. Clean and crisp with medium-light body. Decent for the style overall.
