Commercial Description:
Is light in body, crisp, and very refreshing. Its soft malt flavor is balanced by delicate, spicy hop flavors and finishes nicely dry.

Growler courtesy of arcdz. Clear golden body with a small white head. Doughy, buttery nose with some herbal hops. The flavor is very light with a touch of cracker, some herbs and lemon. Light body is a bit thinish with moderate carbonation. Bland,, even for a Kolsch.

Pours mostly clear gold with a white head. Perfumy cereal grains, corn and that “lager-like” fuesal/fruit/urine deal, with a bit of black pepper smelled and tasted as well. Simple, a bit putrid or moldy, and overall a pretty big disappointment, which seems to be quite common with American brewpub-made Kolsch.

Growler, courtesy of acrdz. Thanks, Mike! Pours a clear, bright golden color; white head with glistening, fine-bubbled lacing. Some buttery / butterscotch notes (like the IPA), but less hidden here; butter, sugar, and mineral hops in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: bland cereal, butterscotch, and sugar; slightly watery on the edges; a touch of mineral (and citrus) bitterness; not a very good Kolsch; messy and buttery and a bit too sweet. Still, drinkable. Medium finish: sugar, mineral bitterness, and a touch of cereal.

I got a glass from a tap at CBC. Little head; the color was a pale gold, very clear. There wasn’t much aroma, what I caught was on the sour side. The palate was light, but not too watery. The flavor was sweet and warm, a nicely balanced blend of maltiness and hops. I tried three beers at CBC and liked this one the best. I plan to get a jug of it next time. I don’t see why so many other raters put it so low.
