Tap at Night of the Funk. Dark brown in color with a little tan head. Malty chocolatety aroma. Caramel notes. Malty fruity and yeasty flavor. Chocolatety caramel notes. Light bodied. Malty finish. Drinkable. Decent beer.

(Draught) Pours a cloudy dark red body with a small beige head. Aroma of red licorice, florals, caramel, dried fruits, and herbs. Flavor of light sourness, earthiness, barrel, light chocolate, and caramel with a dry finish.

Tap at Night of the Funk. Tons of sugar cane in the aroma and nothing else. Some malt extract. Sugary flavor, syrup, no sour at all. A touch of Belgian yeast. So dull.

Tap from 08 Night of the Funk. Aroma of sweet chocolate and caramel malt. Flavor again richly malty, no particularly interesting notes, but nice and caramelly, bready, chocolatey, etc. Superbly drinkable. Very nice.

Tap sampled on 09/26/08 at Night of the Funk. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is pretty much that of a brown ale with lots of sweet caramel and roasted malt. Flavor of roasted malt, chocolated. Light bodied. This could be a good session beer.
