3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 3fourths (6400) - Boulder, USA - APR 23, 2008
Pours a hazy amber orange color with a normal white head – medium to large bubbles, not ugly but not necessarily attractive. First whiff of the nose is diacetyl, not heavy or overpowering but present without a doubt. There’s also a decent amount of fruit sugars, some honey notes, and the hops mostly come across as sort of a green (fresh) moldy smell. Flavor is citrus fruit and butter, medium bitterness, uncomplex but it doesn’t seem like it’s trying very hard, rather it’s just supposed to be a simple IPA, and I think I would have been all over it, since I love simple, forward IPAs, if it weren’t for the diacetyl.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 thicksuds (280) - Massachusetts, USA - MAY 18, 2012
Pretty average IPA, but drinkable and enjoyable for summer nonetheless. A little watery, could use some backbone for a bit more taste. Average hops, all in all not bad.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Pawola22 (2203) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 18, 2012
Pours a mostly clear golden colored body with a thin, frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a light lacing. Aroma is lighter with some floral fruits, a touch of caramel, and a light orange pine. Flavor is pretty citrusy up front with a slightly sweet orange pine and some floral fruits. A light caramel in the middle before the sweet pines and florals come in a bit more to dry this while still finishing a touch sweet with a moderate bitterness. Fairly lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, an ok IPA. Solid flavor with a nice mix of floral fruits and citruses. Nothing special, but enjoyable.

Slightly hazy yellow color with white head that sticks around. Very nice citrus hops on the nose but tastes like earthy hops. Could drink all day

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ungstrup (23960) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - JUL 19, 2011
Cask at GBBF 2010. A hazy golden beer with an orangey head. The aroma has lovely notes of hops - like freshly harvested Magnum lending it notes of spices and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet malty with a high level of alfa acids and hence strong notes of the hops. I believe I’d like it better kegged than cask - lack a sparkle.
3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 kaser (237) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 27, 2011
floral, citrus, golden, clear, minimal head, lightly bitter, average carbonation, not bad, not great, did the trick sitting in the Cambridge Brewing beer garden.......then went for the big boy Red God.....much better

Cask at Get Real NY 2011. Hazy amber-gold pour. The nose is softly orangey. A little bit of light herbal fruitiness. Softly spicy with assertive bitterness. It’s decent - if decidedly by the numbers IPA.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 eaglefan538 (2735) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - APR 29, 2011
Poured with an orangey huge, fairly weak initial head. The aroma was caramel, grainy, cirtus, pine. The flavor followed, some yeast and herbal notes in there, a semi-assertive bitterness to the finish, but just not a wow or exciting IPA. Pretty average run of the mill, but still enjoyable to drink in the big scheme of beer as an IPA fan. But, most of us do take those training wheels off one day.
