COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our spin involves our house Belgian yeast strain and bucketloads of American hops. Brewed with pale and aromatic malts, its primary flavors and aromas are big, floral, grassy and citrusy thanks to Glacier, Amarillo, and Centennial hops. Glacier hops were added at first wort, and combined with Amarillo and Centennial at the end of the boil and in the whirlpool. Additionally nearly 1.5 pounds per barrel of dryhops were added for that bit of something we call “extra.” No bittering hops were used, but the flavors and residual dryness from the hops, combined with a very well-attenuated, super-dry, light-bodied beer, create a perfect balance on the palate. Call it a hoppy Belgian session beer if you like. We call it St. Alphonso.

A nice translucent blonde to golden ale with a thin creamy lacing white. In aroma, a superb floral hops wafting over Belgian fruity esters, some papaya notes. In mouth, wow, such a good and smooth ale with floral hops meeting light curacao, very well balanced and quaffable. On tap at brewpub, Dec. 28 2009.

On cask with Chinook hops added. Pours a bright golden color with a huge white foamy head. Nose is very hop driven, nice floral and bright hops. Palate is flat and slick from the cask. Flavors of bright, floral hops, with some nice grassy notes and some grainy, straw and hay notes with bits of biscuit.

Cask (handpump) at NERAX North, Haverhill MA, 7 November 2009. Clear gold. Not much head but excellent condition. Distinct US hop aroma. Coupled with some Belgian yeast notes. Nice clean tangy palate. Quite subtle but definitely tasty.

at the brewpub 11/1. Great aroma, bitter, grassy, spicy, clove and coriander. Golden orange color, good head and lace that faded as warmed. Bitter sweet flavor. Lite body, smooth thin mouthfeel, bitter dry finish. OOO yaa, that was flippin tasty, Aroma and flavor were really holding my attention and lasted entire way through. Flavor had nice bite with a quick sweet note in it. I drank a bunch of these, a wonderful session beer...
