COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A hop lover's delight! Big and bold, our Pale Ale distinguishes itself by its huge fresh hop aroma and flavor. A combination of Cascade and Centennial hops in the kettle and during an extensive dry-hopped conditioning time gives the beer its nectarious flavor.

Less hop aroma than the porter. Toasty maltiness, nicely balanced. Uninteresting.

This rating is for the tap version, we also had the cask version at the brewpub which was superior to this one. Pours a clear golden with a small white head that leaves good lacing. On the nose I got something that ressembled tomatoes and it was really vegetal and grassy. Not too pleasing to say the least. Taste is bitter to a medium-high level and carries the same weird vegetal or maybe even vegetable flavors. Body was medium and so was carbonation. Lightly sticky. Overall this wasn’t a hit but the cask version was surprisingly good. If I find my notes I might come back and rerate.

On tap and on cask @ Cambridge Brewing Co.

Appearance: Clear golden-orange with a small white head and little lacing. (3/5)

Aroma: Quite floral with spicy presence and honeyed notes. (5/10)

Taste: Quite floral and spicy with herbal notes, malt and light bitterness. (6/10)

Palate: Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Super floral finish with spicy and toasted notes. (3/5)

Overall: Too malty and spicy, unbalanced, not hoppy enough and not easy too drink pale ale. (11/20)

Cask version: The nose is a lot more hoppy with citrus. Taste is softer, the malt is more hidden and there’s nice floral features. Interesting mouthfeel, more fluffy and a lot less sticky. Easier to drink. More tasty. So much better than the regular version. Rating goes from 2.8 to 3.6

On tap on the premise. Pours golden with low to medium white head. Lots of lacing. Aroma is of citrus. Taste is of citrus, strong bitterness. Palate: Medium body. Balance not 100% top notch. Soft carbonation. Overall: Just a tad harsh. Good. [Edit: Cask version is a bit better: increasing taste score by 1]

Gold pour, small white head. Big aroma of grassy, floral and spicy hops. Flavor is spicy and floral hops, caramel, with a bitter, spicy finish. Flavor is fresh, perhaps a bit thin.

JulienHuxley (4317) - Trois-Rivières, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 20, 2015
On tap at the brewpub. Clear gold pour with thin lacy white head. Aroma is lightly hoppy, tons of bready malt notes, very malt forward, hops take a back seat. Taste is bready, malty, light piney hop bitterness. Palate is med light bodied with good carbonation. Decent pale ale, certainly malt forward, DDC style. Good, a bit English style. The cask with a small dry hop was better still, very nice.

czar (5839) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 20, 2015
on tap on the premises - and from cask. clear golden pour with a small reviving white head. bready cereals, spicy grains, wet, very herbal and grassy, faint citrus, some fruitiness - pumpkin-meat, spicy oranges - obvious C?s, melons. average carbonation, light body - oily; balanced yet a bit bland grassy-herbal finish. tap version is a low-fi pale ale versus nice fluffy cask features with more aromatics. score shows a mean between the two.

En fût au brouepub. Couleur jaune paille translucide, mousse blanche laissant une dentelle éparse. Arôme de citron timide, herbal, malt. Goût herbal, malt, amertume faible, Carbonatation faible, corps moyen.

Grassy citrus aroma. Orange haze pour by tap. Bitter like citrus peels, solid enough non-specific malt contrast. Medium body, starts to feel heavy after awhile. APA with great balance.

Slight citrus nose, easy to drink. Pale yellow pour, excellent fibrous lacing. Slight bitter finish, malt bitter as well.
