COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Arriving in time to greet the new year is our deceptively efficacious Belgian strong ale. Golden-straw color, effervescent condition, and commingling flavors and aromas of curacao orange, coriander, yeasty fruit esters and phenols, a subtle malt base, and a warming, slightly hoppy finish. Served proudly in its own tulip-shaped glass, this perennial was the first Belgian-style beer produced in American craft-brewing history according to the beer Hunter, Michael Jackson. Don’t miss it!

Good. Much more flavorful than the Belgians make, I feel, with just as solid Belgian yeast flavor. Less carbonated than those from across the pond. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ home, picked up at Mile High Denver. Pours a hazy golden orange appearance with a white head. Somewhat spicy yeasty (but definitely held well within check), light banana, citrusy, wheat aroma. Flavor is quite smooth and true to the style with notes of tangerines, lemon, banana, coriander, and black pepper. Nothing too fantastic but a decent offering for the style.

Bomber - cloudy dark gold - thick, frothy lace - nose of confectioners sugar, strong banana esters, pear, over ripe apples, juicy fruit gum - there are, however, some pleasant peppery phenols and a rustic, earthy/basement character, so not all bad so far - flavor is quite sweet, with strong banana up front - becomes very spicy through the middle, and a moderate bitterness and tartness develop to try to balance the sweetness - finish of rather messy phenols, strong spiciness, a lot of alcohol heat, a touch of white grape - messy, but not entirely unenjoyable.

22oz bottle, from Dutch’s. Shared with local raters. Mostly clear orange color. Minimal off-white head. No lace sticks. Smooth, lightly soft lighter carbonation. Lightly sticky finish. Nice belgian yeast character, banana, spice. Taste is mostly sweet, has a bit of light alcohol warmth to it. Alright belgian tripel, not my favorite American example. Not the most complex nor well-integrated.

Bottle shared by Dr Silverworm. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Complex sweet citrus and yeast aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy citrus sweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a refreshing beer.

pours medium dark golden with a small white cap, some retention and lacing. loads of golden candi and honey, spicy coriander - tad too much, sweet lightly toasted malts, fruitiness - oranges and peaches. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily and sticky with all that sweetness, herbal-floral-citrusy finish. meh.

Botle (22 oz). Shared by czar, thanks! Hazy orange with a small persistent white head and some lacing. Aroma is of Belgian yeast, light peachy notes, cereals and alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet (a tad too much), malt, peach/citrus, light banana and light alcohol. Medium body. Low carbonation. Oily mouthfeel. Aroma is interesting, but the taste is too sweet for the style. Decent.

Pours a dark yellow with a low white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is boozy but also fruity, sweet and spicy. Taste is sweet with light honey flavors and yellow fruits. Some bananas. Sticky mouthfeel. Not bad!

Bottle 22oz. Pours golden with low off-white head. Pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of grain, citrus, fruits. Taste is of grain, sugar, alcohol, malt, fruits. Palate: medium body. Overall: Good. Nice fruits. Fair tripel, but nothing outstanding here.

Bottle, thanks czar. Clear gold pour, thin white head. Cereal aroma, citrusy notes, light vanilla, alcohol, very estery. Flavor is fruity, banana, light caramel, quite sweet, a bit too syrupy. Despite the advertised low FG, I feel this beer is definitely sweet, carbonation isn’t quite high enough for the style either.
