COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Arriving in time to greet the new year is our deceptively efficacious Belgian strong ale. Golden-straw color, effervescent condition, and commingling flavors and aromas of curacao orange, coriander, yeasty fruit esters and phenols, a subtle malt base, and a warming, slightly hoppy finish. Served proudly in its own tulip-shaped glass, this perennial was the first Belgian-style beer produced in American craft-brewing history according to the beer Hunter, Michael Jackson. Don’t miss it!

An orange-amber body with a white head that faded quickly. There was some sediment on the bottom, but not enough to give it a nice cloudy presence at the end of the bottle. Aroma was of bubblegum, banana, yeast and fruity esters. Flavor seemed to have a sweet note to it initially. Mostly from fruit flavors. There was a nice presence from the yeast which added a nice tart flavor. Alcohol was mildly warming in the finish. Kind of smooth and easy to drink. The carbonation seemed restrained.

Bomber. A cloudy golden beer. Lots of carbonation moving up the glass. A nice almost white head. Fruity esters, yeast, and pale malts define this one. Alcohol brings warming. Some coriander. Decent stuff.

Bottle:   Seems to have a pink peppercorn and spicy like start.   Not a mealy American example, which is great, but its not too floral.   Its a thick somewhat sweet fruitiness, with some spices and that pink peppercorn.   Yeasty and estery start to finish.   Its interesting, and a bit different from a lot of others.   Warming, but not alcoholic.   Peppery finish.   Very interesting and unexpected.

22 ounce bottle into chalice, bottled on 9/05/2013. Pours moderately hazy golden amber color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big pear, apricot, apple, orange, honey, bread, candi sugar, coriander, clove, light pepper, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and malt notes; with good strength. Taste of pear, apple, apricot, orange, honey, bread, candi sugar, coriander, clove, light pepper, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of pear, apple, apricot, orange, honey, bread, candi sugar, coriander, clove, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of malt and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; with a great malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth and moderately slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Tripel style. All around great balance and complexity of malt and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

rejtable (1236) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 9, 2014
Bottle from brewery, nearly 9 months old. Pours clear golden with a limited head and almost no lacing. Nose is sweet candi and dare I say peanut butter?? Fruity notes lead with candy, light plums, some yeast and a bit of a grassy bit in the end. Taste is light sweet light/medium bitter. Lightish body with a prickly carbonation and a medium dry finish.

Bomber poured a clear tarnished gold with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of straw, yeast, pear, light pineapple and a hint of spice. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a smooth dry finish. Flavors of straw, yeast, light pear and light spice with a smooth dry lingering straw finish.
