3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from The Horseshoe, Hampstead. Labelled ’Black Friday’. Deep brown color with a small off-white head. The nose is light cocoa, some grass and light grains. Simple. The taste is simple toffee malt flavors, prickly licorice. Lightly grassy. The body’s pretty light, active carbonation. Overall, a pretty decent schwarzbier. Simple, easy to drink. Nothing crazy.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keg at Brewdog. Dark brown with a tan head. Pretty decent schwarzbier. Light malt and grassy hops. Crisp. Not really bold or high grade enough for a guest tap spot at BD and a bit rich to be charging this much for it but those things aside, this was a well crafted black lager.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On keg at The BrewDog Bar, Edinburgh. Pours a very dark brown colour with a fair light tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, caramel and roasty malt. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel.
