COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Keg; Special.
Rob and Renn brewed Bleeding Hops IPA (6.4% ABV). Don’t expect a pale brew with this one. This beer is stained blood red through the use of aromatic malt (or maybe through the bloodied lupulin sacrifice of so many hops…), a base that harks back to old recipes, which is then flipped over with the use of modern hops: Simcoe and Motueka were in the kettle and whirlpool, then we transferred it to condition on lots and lots of different dry-hops: Calypso, Delta, Crystal, Amarillo, Simcoe and Citra.
This is what Camden Town beers taste like: full of flavour, balanced, our twist on a classic style. It’s got body, depth, with a full roundness to it which supports the big hop flavour and aroma (punchy citrus, roasted tropical fruit, strawberry), a bitterness which is skillfully restrained instead of shocking. This is not your usual IPA.

Keg at Southampton Arms, London. Very dark amber, with a beige head. Tinny flavour. Some bitter hops to start then it sort of gets lost. Nice enough finish. Reasonable stuff.

This is a great limited edition IPA from the Camden Brewery. Gives a nice front hit when you first taste it but leaves you satisfied with a really smooth aftertaste.

Keg. Pours a deep amber, with a white head. Dry, medium bodied, high bitterness, balanced CO2. Hoppy taste, quite floral, malt, grapefruit, spruc, caramel. Tasty. (2012-02-13)

On draught at The Euston Tap. Pours a golden amber colour with a fair beige head. Aroma of caramel, treacle, pine and alcohol. Similar flavours with a chewy caramel malt backbone. Moderate carbonation, light CO2 prickle and a dry finish. Lingering pine, caramel and alcohol. Mildly bitter. Very nice.

Keg at Euston Tap, London. Clear amber pour. Toasty malts, some ripe citrus, light herbal hops. Medium sweet. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A few berries, light pine, some toasty sugars. Not bad. More like an amber ale.

Keg at Craft Beer Co. It pours much darker than expected - deep brown, with a big off-white head. The nose is toffee (due to crystal malt?), with some pine, hop and leather. The taste is hay, wood, pine, caramel, toffee, leather and resin, with a long bitter finish. Thin body, well hidden-alcohol and fine carbonation. A bit thin and one dimensional.
