Helles and Pilsner combine – the pale, crisp body of Pils with the gentle hop profile of Helles. It’s pale gold, refined, elegant and dry. Soft biscuity malt, a light lemony, peppery hop character and the sort of bitterness which quenches and never overpowers. Matured for a long time in tank, it’s how a great lager should taste.

On tap @ Craft Beer Co. London. Crystal clear golden in color and it has a small light lacing white lager-head. Mild malty on the aroma, some clear bready tones here also, and hints of toilet water. Oh, fresh and refreshing flavors. It has a average small prickling carbonation level and a light oily to watery mouthfeel. Low on the bitterness, I get some semi sweet corn-like thing here. It’s malty and a bit floral. Really easy drinking and not bad. 21.07.2012

Fizzy and light yellow. Not much aroma but a large dose of wet biscuit on the tongue. Not otherwise very remarkable.

Can at Sovereigns, Woking. 22/07/16. Slight piney aroma - something like that, a lot of fag smoke! Light gold and bubbly. Extremely smooth, a hot of carbonation. Lacks flavour - a wall of sweetness with a touch of bitterness. Easy drinking, not much thinking required.

Sampled from a bottle. Pours a lemon yellow colour with a white head. Refreshing and bitter taste with hints of straw and honey. Tastier and more bitter than most lagers.

Pint at sir Christopher Hatton A: Pale colour, clear, small to medium head, moderate retention, left some lacing. S: Toasted honey gave way to lots of red cabbage. T: Basically following the nose, watery texture but quite refreshing. M: Light, but a bit watery. O: I wanted something light and refreshing, this fitted the bill pretty well, although there are much better Bavarian alternatives out there.
