Keg & Bottle;
Helles and Pilsner combine – the pale, crisp body of Pils with the gentle hop profile of Helles. It’s pale gold, refined, elegant and dry. Soft biscuity malt, a light lemony, peppery hop character and the sort of bitterness which quenches and never overpowers. Matured for a long time in tank, it’s how a great lager should taste.

330ml bottle. Pours clear amber with a good white head. Looks good in the glass. Mild aroma with a slight metallic tint. Some sweetness, flavours of banana and tropical fruits with a touch of citrus. Very short finish. Could do with more at the back, but pretty good for a lager.

Pours clear light golden. Not much aroma. Taste is watery, a bitter finishing. A light flavoured beer, not very interesting.

330ml can from Ales by Mail

Pours clear yellowish golden with a foamy head. Aroma of butter, hay, metallic notes and hints of malts. Taste is sweet, smooth and grainy with hints of butter, hay and metallic notes. Finish is smooth, slightly sweetish and grassy with hints of butter and hay. Decent.

On tap, poured into a sampler. The aroma, initially, has a light acetone note to it, but this is soon replaced by grains and pastry dough with undertones of mineral water and spice. The pour is a brilliant and oily clear light straw hue with an effervescent quality and a white, dense, dirty head that has mild retention and light lace. The taste is a medium light, near balanced, bittersweet. The texture is thin but oily with a slickness and a mild zippy carbonation. The light body is composed of flavors of citrus peel, spice, minerals, and banana bread. The finish is mostly citrus peel with a spice and the aftertaste is mostly clean with bitter lemon and mineral water.

Can. Bright straw ale with a thick bubbly head. Nose is light maltiness and not much else. Light lemon/lemonade and malts in the mouth, a little biscuit, gentle drinking. A little pepperiness. Yummy in the sun! Good lager!
