Helles and Pilsner combine – the pale, crisp body of Pils with the gentle hop profile of Helles. It’s pale gold, refined, elegant and dry. Soft biscuity malt, a light lemony, peppery hop character and the sort of bitterness which quenches and never overpowers. Matured for a long time in tank, it’s how a great lager should taste.

Rating this as a lager. It stands out a a great modern beer. Adds a bit more taste than the usual and yet maintains it’s roots as the everyman go to pint.

Draught@The Jolly Butchers, Stoke Newington. This is such a nice helles. Nice appearance, glowing yellow, frothy head. Crisp aroma and flavour, some lightly sweet malts and then some crisp, fruity hops, dry, with some soft bitterness, nice round mouthfeel. Very good.

Tap at Jolly Butchers. Pours a clear, very pale yellow with a light, white head. Pale malt aroma with crackers and faint straw. Flavor holds light sweetness with some sweat, good, biscuity cardboard and just hints of hops. Light in body with fine and lively carbonation. The finish has more easygoing, biscuity malts and light, crisp, short bitterness. A nice take.

Flaska på Nya Tröls. En lätt, mjuk och mild skapelse. Nybakt bröd, säd, lite jäst, blommor, och aningen citrus. Rena smaker, välavvägd, fin smakbild och mycket välgjord. Riktigt bra.

Fine malty body with some cereals, not too light. Well balanced by Central European grassy hops. A pleasant refreshment.

Tap at the Craft Beer Co - 14/09/12. Clear pale golden with a thin white bubbly cap. Pale malt, wheat, grain and a little citrus on the nose. Tastes of malts, cereal, light biscuit, light citrus, grass notes. Medium bodied and carbonation level the same - just right for the style leading to a crisp dry finish.

Bottled at NK, Stockholm. Clear pale golden, small head. Fruity nose with some butter. Mid dry with crisp, rounded mouthfeel and light body. Grassy pilsnerish hops, long salty bitterness. Well balanced and nicely drinkable. A contender for the best British lager I’ve tasted.

Bottle. Bronze with a small head. Slighty bitter with a gentle lingering bitterness. Reasonable but not very exciting.
