On tap at The Queens Head. Pours black with a tan head. Taste is of roasted malts, caramel, coffee and a bit of licorice. Medium body and carbonation. Looks like a Guinness but is not as creamy or sweet. Has a dry finish. Nothing special but does taste fine.

Looks like a substantial and satisfying pint. It's actually a bit thin and disappointing. Very dark black with a smooth creamy head.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Keg tap at the Mill, Cambridge. Black and opaque with a thin but resilient tan head. Bit of liquorice and oat biscuit but to be honest in the aroma. A hard bitter taste, intense and honest. This beer may have more subtlety but the cold temperature kills it. Medium to thin body, giving it more of the feel of a refreshing sessioner than a proper bad-ass stout. Good enough but not great value for the price. Better than Guinness though.
