Keg @ Red Squirrel, Edinburgh EIBF 140712
Light golden amber, thin white head, good lacing, slight haze
Aroma - soft bitter hops, fresh, soft grassy hop
Taste - lemon zest bitter hops, bitter watery grapefruit, very light malts, fresh tasting.
Palate - medium carb, thin body. Finish of bitter zest...not much linger, zesty lemon, clean, crisp
Overall - Refreshing pale ale, bit watery though. I wasn’t really blown away by this

Bottle; gold, thin white head; looks like a macro lager, but sure doesn’t smell like one - very hoppy aroma; taste is bitter and hoppy; what was initially only a very faint lemony flavour thankfully developed as things progressed; crisp, quenching, dry, with a bitter, hoppy finish; it initially reminded me of a half-decent lager (Bitburger, say) but the lemon and hops did lift things a level or two; I nevertheless expected much more from the list of trendy hop varieties on the label.

Keg @ some hipster pub in Shoreditch. I’m suprised I hadn’t rated this before! Quite light clear pale straw color with a big creamy head. The nose is grapefruit light citrus with some light grass too. Simple. The taste is light and easy citrus, light grains and orchard fruits. Uncontroversial but quite nice indeed. Prickly carb, light body. You could drink loads of this stuff. Overall, a decent pale ale.

Bottle, 33cl - Clear pale golden beer with a white fast disappearing white head. Aroma is malty sweet with notes of citrus, metal, lychee and wheat. Flavor is malty with notes of citrus, metal, light caramel and floral hops. Pretty ok, but had higher expectations.

Keg at the brewery. Blond coloured with small white head. Aroma is lemony hops, fruity, bit of biscuity malt. Taste is similar, citrus fruity, biscuit malty. Quite soft in the mouth. Very drinkable, and got more interesting the further down the glass I went.
