People are fairly snobby about this in their ratings, but itís fair to say that this pale ale - which is on the lager end of the scale - has almost single-handedly driven up the base standard for well-brewed beer across mainstream London pubs. Itís fizzy, itís hoppy, itís not very malty but it tastes perfectly fine, like a slightly inferior Brooklyn lager. Arguably thereís not a fantastic amount of subtlety, but there is a lovely golden colour from most kegs Iíve seen, and the high carbonation sustains throughout a pint. Itís a safe but ultimately good beer for the part time beer afficionado. And I mean that in a good way.
