Worried about this as I have had many a wheat beer brewed in England turned out to be awful however this is fantastic. Smooth with heavy banana tastes with a clean finish it’s one of my favourites!

Slurped from a Erdinger glass. A bit of an appropriate beer to match to the glass, so an admirable effort, if those 2 things are combustibly unified. I don’t think I’m a fan of JLS so this is a slightly unfair comment. Quite good. Decent. Not too sweet, but that’s my JLS non love coming through. Definitely.

Drunk from a Schneider Weiss glass. A bit of an insult to the glass, but an admirable effort, if those 2 things are compatible. I don’t think I’m a fan of hefes so this is a slightly unfair comment. Quite good. Decent. Too sweet, but that’s my hefe non love coming through. Perhaps.

330ml bottle. Hazy amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, white head. Wheaty and yeasty aroma with a citrus touch, some bread. Taste is yeasty, wheaty, some citrus, baked apple, subtle sweetness. Better than a great deal of ’German’ German Hefeweizen.

29.03.2013. 0,5l Bottle. @tkk. Dark golden colour with white head. Aroma of banana and wheat. Rather rich for a hefe weizen. Aftertaste is medium bitter and there is a lot of banana at the end. I had this beer rather warm and I think that enhanced the banana flavours.

May 2012 - really nothing special about this. Underwhelming and nowhere near the quality of the German stuff.

Bottle from myBrewerytap.Pours murky dark brown with a small white head. Strong aroma of banana and cloves. Taste is moderate sweet banana, soft carbonated, slightly spicy at the short lived end. Watery mouthfeel.

Bottle (330ml from Vino Wines, Edinburgh):
A spicy aroma upfront, there is some cloves and orange along with some citrus. There is also a definite wheat beer smell with some yeast and sweet malts thrown in too.
Darkish, cloudy amber colour with a thin, two millimetre tall head that is bubbly but disappears after about forty seconds.
Sweet malts, some spicy hops and wheat along with a helping of cloves, light caramel and even lighter banana. Seems to be a more malty style hefeweizen with the usual citrus and some lemon in there too but not a lot.
Sweet and surprisingly spicy with a nice citrus tang. Carbonation is medium to high and there is a touch of bitterness right at the end.
A darker, spicier version of your tradition hefeweizen but a still a nice one. Quite sweet and malty without really exciting.

Tap at the Hanging Bat, Edinburgh - 08/12/12.
Hazed dirty mid amber with a thin off white head that retains well.
Nose is bitter and sour, unlike most Hefes I’ve had, also a touch dungy, light toffee and some fruit tones.
Taste follows, sour and tarte, wheat tones, caramel, fruit.
Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, sour finish.
Average - rare to get a keg beer that attains the classic ’W’ formation !
Unusual Hefe !
