Keg; Special.
James and Pete paired up for Gentlemanís Wit (4.3% ABV). The inspiration, other than loving the zesty spiciness of wit, lies somewhere between a plate of lemon meringue pie and a cup of Earl Grey tea. James roasted 20 lemons covered in bergamot for 20 hours until they were juicy, fragrant, caramelised and sharp. The beer was made with a classic recipe and yeast strain with the lemons bombing into the whirlpool at the end of the brew.
Itís turned out as one of the most incredible beers weíve brewed. The colour is as beautiful as a beer can get: a hazy, unfiltered warm pastel yellow. The lemon and bergamot poke through the aroma, a hint of sharpness cuts through the middle, itís dry and interesting and quenching and a dry, phenolic spice ends the mouthful like a full stop ends a sentence.

Keg at the Flask NW3. Light yellow colour. Quite fresh, quenching. Didnít really get too much of the lemon/bergamot. This style isnít my favourite, the beer is a well executed example but these wits just donít really excite me.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2014 Bottle from Mane Liquor. Dirty off yellow pour isnít that appealing. The nose is quite zesty and lemon forward with plenty of cloves and banana. Fairly easy going and summer driven stuff. Absolute quaffer of a wheat. I actually donít mind this because it is so drinkable for a wheat. Summer in a bottle type stuff

Oh this is lovely! Draft, at the Local Pub in Athens. Spicy, lemony, refreshing Wit - really firm on the palate, whilst still being balanced.

Poured into glass. Light yellow appearance with a small creamy head. Taste of lemon, bergamot and sweet fruits. Fairly light body. Great for hot days. One of the better wheat beers in my opinion.
