COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Keg; Special.
James and Pete paired up for Gentleman’s Wit (4.3% ABV). The inspiration, other than loving the zesty spiciness of wit, lies somewhere between a plate of lemon meringue pie and a cup of Earl Grey tea. James roasted 20 lemons covered in bergamot for 20 hours until they were juicy, fragrant, caramelised and sharp. The beer was made with a classic recipe and yeast strain with the lemons bombing into the whirlpool at the end of the brew.
It’s turned out as one of the most incredible beers we’ve brewed. The colour is as beautiful as a beer can get: a hazy, unfiltered warm pastel yellow. The lemon and bergamot poke through the aroma, a hint of sharpness cuts through the middle, it’s dry and interesting and quenching and a dry, phenolic spice ends the mouthful like a full stop ends a sentence.

Fantastic smooth Wheat beer from the Fantastic Camden Town Brewery. Unique smell of lemon and a fantastic smooth wheat beer with banana undertones. One of my favourites!

Very floral and aromatic nose. Pot pourri on the palate and surprisingly pleasant. A few though might get a little on the sickly side.

Pours gold with a fading head. Nose shows a herbal note (bergamot?), lemon peel and a doughy wheat character. Somewhat reminiscent of sponge cake. Some lemon remains as a flavour along with the herbal note. More doughy wheat too. Needs more carbonation. An interesting twist. Still think some orange peel would be good though.
