COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Camden Pale Ale Style: American-style Pale Ale ABV: 4.0% IBU: 40 Malt: Pale Ale, Cara, Munich and Wheat Hops: Cascade, Columbus, Amarillo, Centennial, Simcoe, Calypso and Citra (BOOM!) Available: 30 litre kegs and 330ml bottles The story: Inspired by outrageously hop-heavy American craft brews, we wanted to brew one of our own, only at a lower, massively-drinkable ABV. It’s our UK spin on an American classic. The taste: Punchy American hops throw out a big aroma of grapefruit, orange and tropical fruit. It’s a bright orange-gold colour. The body is subtle and clean and a golden platter for carrying the hops. The bitterness rolls in and then ends dry, making you thirsty for another gulp.

Bottle form Marks and Spencer (!) Pours pale gold. Clear. Aroma is lacking somewhat. Bit of light, biscuity malt. Flat lemonade. Faint hops. Bit dusty. Gentle carbonation. Ok palate. Taste is light lemon. Bit of orange. Cereal malt. Wee bit sweet then a firm bitterness comes through. Medium- length finish. My first Camden ale. Bit meh to be honest.

Can from from Fresh Fields Market, Croydon. It pours clear golden-amber with a medium white head. The nose is soft, toasty grain, cereal and sawdust. The taste is crisp, light bitterness, citrus rind, toasty grain, cereal, soap and light metallic twang with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Pretty bland. So-so.

Välkommen till den låga alkoholhaltens förbannelse. Nu ska vi inte vara förspråkare av överdrivna alkoholhalter men att kasta bort potenta smaker på en klen styrka borde vara straffbart.

Bottle beer merchants.com Pored well, with a good whiff of hops but the flavour is a real let down. Has got some hops but there is a strange minerally metallic thing going on. Licked the nose though.

zesty, grapefruit aromas, gold colour body, flavour of pine and metal maybe a bit of digestive biscuit in the finish. bit lame considering its inspired by hop heavy american brews...

From Booths, Ilkley. Clear gold. Drinking this from a nucleated Camden glass, with makes for a dense, lasting, white head. Nice hoppage on this. Lively zest. Bit of biscuit. There’s a metallic edge that spoils things somewhat, but overall it smells pretty good. Drinks clean, and with a zingy, orange squash fruitiness. Fairly crisp. Light, short, bitter finish. Good, low ABV sessioner.

330ml bottle from ales by mail. BB May 2015. Slight white head which cleared in seconds. Poured a clear golden orange colour. Aroma is hops, tropical fruit and caramel. Taste is a bit weak and watery with a dry, slightly spicy finish on the palate. Lacks on flavour. Wasn't enjoyable to be honest.
