COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Camden Pale Ale Style: American-style Pale Ale ABV: 4.0% IBU: 40 Malt: Pale Ale, Cara, Munich and Wheat Hops: Cascade, Columbus, Amarillo, Centennial, Simcoe, Calypso and Citra (BOOM!) Available: 30 litre kegs and 330ml bottles The story: Inspired by outrageously hop-heavy American craft brews, we wanted to brew one of our own, only at a lower, massively-drinkable ABV. It’s our UK spin on an American classic. The taste: Punchy American hops throw out a big aroma of grapefruit, orange and tropical fruit. It’s a bright orange-gold colour. The body is subtle and clean and a golden platter for carrying the hops. The bitterness rolls in and then ends dry, making you thirsty for another gulp.

Pours orange gold with a small head and a low carb, in the aroma there’s biscuit and caramel malts, a little citrus zing and quite bitter to finish. Got more in common with a bitter than other British APAs. Drinkable, yes, but bog standard.

330ml bottle. Clear orangey dark golden to amber colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Herbal and minimally grassy hop aroma, subtle hints of orange. Taste is bitter, grassy and minimally herbal hoppy, extremely cautious hints of lemon; light body. Has initially relating to taste more resemblance to a standard German Pilsener than an APA - very dissapointing considering the hoppy ingredients listed. Not until very late the plain grassy hop notes give way for some more fruity flavours.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with beige head. The aroma has notes of petroleum, straw, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of petroleum, malt, and hops, leading to a bitter finish.

Golden to orange with a very thin white head. Aroma is hops and citrus. Taste is sweet and bitter, well balanced. Feels very watery and thin bodied. Very light carbonation. Nice but really not enough going on.

Draught @ Flying Scotsman. Crisp pale ale with notes of orange and grape. The fruitiness from the hops is altough surprisingly low. Sure, the maltiness is clean and it’s a perfectly drinkable beer... just a bit boring.

Draught (4% version) at Flying Scotsman Inn. Pours amber with no head. Grainy brew, hint of hops and some honney. Non of the new world hops prommised. Probably bad handled by staff.
