COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A 4.1% Vienna-inspired lager made with loads of American hops. It’s like a slow dance through downtown Vegas. Amber in colour and thumping and bright with big, pithy hop flavour.

Keg at the Euston Tap - London. Wow, great beer. Nice pine character here, lots of orange. Pours clear, red-gold with a fine, white head. Light bodied with average carbonation. Some dry and bready malts. Lovely. I’m quite impressed by this one. Like no other Vienna I’ve had before - it’s a pretty progressive take on the style. Stupidly drinkable.

Half pint from keg at Euston Tap. Patchy surface leaving rings of lace down the glass. Cloudy, amber coloured body. Hoppy aroma with fresh and dried fruits. Sappy taste of fresh apricot and citrus fruits up front, supported by underlying notes of earthy malty. Succulent, fruit bitter ending. Fine bodied. Pleasing (London, 10.04.2013).

Cask at Dean Swift, Tower Bridge. Very hoppy aroma and an even bigger hop hit in the mouthful, balanced by bread, malt and a hint of orange. Really enjoyable beer.

[keg at the Hanging Bat, Edinburgh] Very slightly hazy deep amber, with a decent white head. The aroma is bready, yeasty and with some bitter, pithy citrus fruit. On the taste, mostly earthy bread, with only a faint tingle of hops. The finish is extremely bitter, before becoming earthy again. To be honest, I expected more hops in there, but it’s still a good Vienna style (and, therefore, maybe more true to that style) [12032013]

Keg at Euston Tap, 13th March 2013. This is interesting and a style I have not tried, I got lots of hops and some slight smokey biscuit taste. Good, I would have this again

Craft, Islington. Light haze on this amber beer, little white head. Palate is softish but has prickly carbonation. Fresh skunky hops! Quite strong! Minerals. Trace of citrus but it’s mostly hop skunk. Finishes light and minerally with a whisper of tropical fruits. Nice beer and Camden are now my favourite lager brewer!

Keg in the Holborn Whippet. Hazy ruddy amber colour. Clean malty background, firm and crisp, then big American hop finish, citric maybe grapefruit. It is indeed a heavily hopped Vienna! Nice and tasty, well made lager, but I’d prefer a hoppy amber ale, somehow there was still a bit of lager in the finish here.

Keg @ CBC Clerkenwell. The pour’s medium amber with a small head. The aroma’s of unwashed armpit, peach, lemon and grassy hops. The taste is grapefruit and citrus. Bright hops. Bready caramel malt base. Light body, fine carbonation. Actually a pretty solid beer. Good.

Keg at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell. It pours gold with a small off-white head. The nose is peanut, light pine, dough, faint spice and light urine. The taste is smooth, hay, spice, dough, citrus edge, peanut and some bitterness with a dry, lightly citric finish. Pretty well balanced and easy drinking, but not terribly exciting.
