Bottle at Inn Deep. It pours deep ruby with a large beige head. The nose is roasty, earth, liquorice, ink, pepper, dark chocolate, coffee and sweet plum. The taste is roasty, earth, toast, brown sugar, plum, date, decent bitterness, liquorice, cocoa, coffee and a touch of alcohol with a bitter, roasty finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Smooth, well-integrated and rather drinkable. Rather good indeed.

Bottle shared with Jonny. Dark reddish-brown, thin off-white had. Toasty biscuit malts, nice red fruits, lightest roast. Nice sweet chocolate malts, nutty malts, red fruits. Prickly carbonation, soft bittersweet malt finish. Really good.

330ml bottle from Camden Brewery at the inflated £3 price! Tut tut. Well, this is a marvellous addition to the Camden roster, and although I’m not the biggest fan of porter, this is a well-balanced, drinkable brew... dark, toasted and bready enough make you savour every sip.

Keg at Camden Town Tap Room - London. Pours clear, red-brown with a moderate, creamy beige head. The aroma holds some toasty, bready malts and burnt caramel. Medium sweet flavor with mild roast, more toasty bread, some bitter earth, sugary dark malts, suggestions of the alcohol. Medium bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with plenty of sugary drk malts, some earthy bitterness, burnt leaves, milk chocolate, dark bread. Very tasty, well balanced stuff.
