jamestulloch (1462) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 21, 2013
Aroma: Wet hay, milk chocolate and herbs.

Appearance: Very dark brown body with a medium beige head that holds well. Excellent carbonation.

Taste: Chocolate ice-cream, coffee, dark fruits, toffee and roasted malt. No hint of its 7.0% ABV - very smooth and drinkable.

Palate: Thin to medium body with a slick, oily texture. Soft carbonation fizz.

Overall: Really well balanced and flavoursome. Incredibly drinkable for its strength.

fiulijn (15000) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 19, 2013
Dark color, near black, with small-medium sized head. The aroma is strong, of sweet caramel. Good body, smooth; caramel flavor, moderately sweet, but also lean, with light nutty touch and Demerara sugar; correct bitterness; just lightly dusty; in the final, there is a touch of darker caramel.
Balanced; well brewed; could as well be a good Dunkel Bock.

Bottle at home, from ABM, 27/12/13. Mid black with reddish hues when held in the light topped with a mahoosive tan head that dissipates but retains well. Nose is treacle toffee, dark berry fruits, earthy cocoa, Pontefract cake. Taste comprises roast malt, liqourice, dark toffee, earthy cocoa powder, a little dirt thrown in, treacle. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, roast presence and hoppy backnotes in the lightly drying finale. Decent enough Baltic Porter.

RichTheVillan (3209) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUL 20, 2013
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark brown pour with big off white head, whispy smokey malt aroma, sweet roast malt taste, bitter some dark fruit vanilla, shoe leather delightful although I’d expect more from these two.
