COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Special - September/October 2010.
Brewed with 100% British malt and hop varieties. 6th Sense was named after the many ghost stories and legends surrounding the historic Camerons Brewery site which has been in Hartlepool since 1865. This award winning beer has a chestnut brown colour and delicate floral aroma finished off with a smooth malty taste. Have a pint if you dare!

Cask Handpump at the GBBF, Earl’s Court 06/08/2010 Floral malt aroma. Mid brown coloured a little rich on the palate and strong in alcohol with a hint of dryness in a bitter and nutty malt finish.

Cask Conditioned Handpump Malt Shovel Northampton. A reddy amber coloured beer with an off-white thin head. A fruity malty beer with sweet notes and flavours of berries. Sugary in places and gives the impression that’s done deliberately to give it the extra strength. It is initially approachable but becomes cloying.

6th August 2010. GBBF.
Cloudy mid brown beer. Residual white head. Light dry palate. Very floral. Sweet malt. Trace of toffee. Some orange and apple hop. Finishes semi dry. Very well joined up - could sink a few of these!

Cask@GBBF2010. Deep amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, earth, caramel and some mild toffeeish notes. Flavour is earthy, leathery, some fruity and floral hops along with some mild toasted and toffeeish notes.

Cask (handpump) at the Great British Beer Festival, Day 4 on 6 August 2010. I thought this was only available in pasteurized bottle but it seems that Camerons have decided to give it a go in cask too. Tawny colour. A bit murky. Decent condition. Estery, slightly gluey aroma. Sweetish. Alcohol is evident and warming - not too much afterburn. Some astringent bitterness at the end. Pretty decent, although doesn’t really deliver the layers and complexities that I would be looking for in a strong ale. Higher strength can be a good starting point but doesn’t, in itself, necessarily produce a more interesting brew.
