3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
341 mL bottle from the brewery, served in a stem glass. Pours clear caramel-brown with a small, white head that fades and leaves lots of fine lace. The nose has lots of caramel, nutty malts and biscuit, along with subtle English hops and perhaps a hint of anise. The flavour is medium sweet with toasty, nutty malts, caramel and brown sugar. This is balanced with subtle hops and a touch of earth. The finish is medium in length, malty and toasty. On the palate it is medium in body, with a milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice ale similar to an English mild. The malts are nice and toasty, with a certain subtlety. Hops are soft and delicate, and take a back seat. A nice light session brew. 2013-05-13

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A solid amber, easy drinking and smooth. Subtle citrus aroma, but dominated.by caramel and toffee. Flavour is the same, with nothing standing out. A good blend of flavours, but no wow factor. Just a good amber!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
CBAC day 12.Pours a clear brown color with a small frothy off white head that leaves good lace. Aroma of caramel, malty, grassy hops and light bubblegum. Taste is caramel, grassy hops and pine. Decent balance but as it warms the bitterness becomes a touch harsh but overall this is a nice amber ale.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Craft beer advent calendar day 12! Pours a very clear brown with a small creamy off white head leaving small lace. Aroma is moderately malty, caramel, citrus and grass. Not a perfect balance but not bad. Flavour is medium hop bitterness, mixture of grassy, pine and citrus hops, some sweet malts, caramel and a medium dry finish. Bitterness is a bit astringent and could be smoother, also seems a bit thin.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear auburn colour. Slight roast, malted, and some caramel. Medium bodied brew with a watery mid palate and a fast finish. It shows only some lightly malted flavours but overall this is a boring, watery and terribly one dimensional brew. English styled brew; ie: boring. Never having this one again.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep amber pour. Aroma is a slightly off putting blend of caramel malts and piney hops. Somewhat sweet with some mid-palate hop balance. Finishes sweet and treacle like with some pine.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a bottle into an Imperial glass, date code L0613.
Appearance: Brilliant dark copper with a finger of off white head.
Aroma: Slight citrus and pine from hops with a blend of dark pitted fruit from English malts.
Taste: Slight chocolate-caramel with a crisp bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Moderate with a medium carbonation.
Overall: A classic West coast-style red, enough malt to keep the beer rounded but enough hops to be very drinkable.

This hand brewed all natural no preservative auburn ale was a real treat for my taste buds. After finishing a few bottles it is no surprised that it has won so many awards! it is a deliciously complex west coast ale with a generous hop aroma, smooth maltiness and a deep smooth finish!
