Slacks (356), Bolton, Ontario, Canada Aug 12, 2006 Draught @ TFOB: I asked for their Dark, but the bimbo (I don’t use that word loosely, but when I use it, I use it accurately) at the booth seemed more interested in getting people away from her booth than actually spending time. So Auburn Ale it is. Pours brown with light red edging, a nice head that left me at the altar. Aroma heavy in grains and black tea with fruit and hops. Tastes nice, unexpected for the style. Seemed to have far more character and flavour flourishes than previous amber ale, so they deserve some points for that. Good brewer, decent brew. Wish I’d had the dark.
WeeHeavySD (1841), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jul 3, 2008 12oz a gift from Bill a left over bottle from Judging for the world beer cup. Pours amber with a 1 finger tan head. Nose has a light crisp hop presence with some caramel. Taste is sweet and light and slightly malty. A little bit of a gross aftertaste. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Mar 4, 2008 Amber with minimal head. Aroma is light caramel malts, some biscuits and honey. A touch sweet upfront but some hop presence as it goes down. Decent simple amber ale. cyrenaica (277), Milton, Ontario, Canada Dec 22, 2007 341ml bottle

I first tried this beer on October 19, 2007 at my annual hockey pool. The beer poured a beautiful pale translucent red colour with a thin white head. The aroma is a little bit of hops and a little bit of fruit, plum like. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour is hoppy with some malt, plums, and yeast tones. The_Jester (497), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Nov 28, 2007 330 mL bottle. Auburn is not a bad adjective to describe the colour, and it begins with a small head that quickly reduces to a film. There is a mild to medium floral meets pine hop plus nuts meet toast malt aroma. The taste is decent if unspectacular - the floral hoppiness being gradually overtaken by the sweet malt as the beer warms. Mouthfeel is quite smooth, and there is a nice, mildly bitter finish. Pretty good! And even better on tap. JAF737300 (733), New York, New York, USA Oct 30, 2007 POurs mid amber with a nice full head. There is a decent amount of malt with light hints of citurs. On the palate there are some notes of hitterness and hops that show the bitterness.
