Our inspiration for the perfect American Pale Ale came from California, the birthplace of the APA style, where the sun, sand, and waves go hand-in-hand with great beer. Presented at 5.1% Alc/Vol, with vibrant and pronounced tropical fruit-inspired hop varieties, this anytime beer is an all-day crowd pleaser.

Rating #1245 - Bottle from Camerons Mixer 08.09.2014 - Golden amber pour with a bubbly, lasting white foam. Aroma is citrusy, tangerine notes, mild grassiness, mild floral, piney scent.Taste is a blast of hop character whose bitterness evolves to define this beer, a bold bitterness following a crisp, floral, resinous, citrusy sweetness. Not unbalanced, and extremely drinkable

Gushed a bit out of the bottle but otherwise not overcarbonated or no other off flavors. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a frothy and lacey white head. Aroma of sweet grainy malts! Pale 2 row and nice burst of citrus hops, grapefruit, light pine and citrus zest. Taste is a grainy malt bill, citrus hops, pine, grapefruit and a crisp clean finish with a balanced bitterness. Reminds me of Sierra Nevada pale ale.

Canadian APA with extremely thick and rocky, frothy, snow white head, leaving thick foamy lacing around the edges of the glass; hazy ’old gold’ colour with dark yeast particles suspended in it. Fruity, spicy and hoppy aroma of dried grapefruit peel, acacia honey, lemon blossom, dry cookies, raspberry, minerals, white bread, paper, melon, apple cake, chamomille, freshly cut weeds. Crisp flavour, restrainedly fruity, dried apricot, sour berry accent, medium carbonation, bit minerally, bready malts underlying, umami accent of green olives somewhere in the middle, long earthy, spicy, resiny bitter hop finish, quenching and satisfying. Well-made and balanced APA, a good introduction to the style, I would argue.

Who would have thought a Canadian brewery would make an American Pale Ale that is better than any American brewery?!

Hazy grapefruit juice colour topped by a frothy, long-lasting head. Nose is fresh citrus. Predominant tastes include citrus fruits especially lemon and orange, a touch of green apple and a slightly candied sweetness. This rolls out on a very appropriate bready malt body. The heavy carbonation pumps up the refreshing fruitiness of this APA. Some bitterness emerges as you work your way down the bottle. An odd beer to be drinking in the depths of a frigid Canadian winter, but I’m likin’ it nonetheless.

How could I not like this one? Hazy blonde, thin head. Fruity, orangey creamsicle character. Medium bitterness, fresh hoppy and citric bitter finish. Good balance.

(Rating #6053)

[6334-20140523] Tap. Fruity orange hops aroma has a light plastic note. Clear, orange body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Bitter orange rind flavour has a grassy finish. Medium-full body. Delicious. (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0

750ml bottle from the LCBO. Foamy head on top of a orange-tinted straw body.Intense grapefruit aroma that is at the forefront. Citrus dominated. Orange rind is present as well.Hops are bringing a majority of the flavor to this beer with no apparent malt flavors for me. Medium/high carbonation which really adds to the tartness of the grapefruit. Quite bitter in a fruity way rather than a hop based bitterness. Long finish which is quite dry, not very sessionable and is reminiscent of rind and seeds.
