Blasphemies (45), Ontario, Canada May 27, 2008 bottle: goldy colour. didn’t get much of an aroma to type of. Sweet malty taste, perhaps some hops. Seemed thin.
blankboy (2565), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 12, 2008 Bottle at The Esplanade Bier Mrkt. Pours a clear pale gold with a small diminishing white head. Aroma’s sweet, a touch vegetal (I think, there’s something odd here, like a vegetal yeasty sour thing going on -- best I can explain it) along with some fruit and light hops. Flavour of sweet malt, grain, fruit and light floral hops. A bit vegetal again. Light bitter finish. Average bodied. For a Cream Ale, a style that’s rarely any good, this is alright, I still don’t much care for it though. Slacks (355), Bolton, Ontario, Canada Mar 8, 2008 355ml Bottle: Pours a very vibrant gold colour, started off with some foamy white head and quickly dissipated. Slightly sour malt aroma, bit of grass, milk, bread; not bad, interesting. Flavour is mild with decent bittering and floral hops with fruity melon and peach notes, alongside a very muted sweetness. Pretty good, but mine had an unfortunate metallic taste that I’m sure is just an off-batch and not part of the recipe. I’d like to try one on draught to compare. ILduce (91), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 27, 2008 Bottle. Clear yellow in appearance with medium white head. Layered aromas of peach, sweet potato, malt and dough. Fruity with undertones of buttermilk. Medium-bodied; creamy on the palate. JesseM (365), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Jan 8, 2008 Updated: Feb 1, 2008341ml bottle from a 9-pack that I finally got around to buying. Pours a very nice deep golden colour with a very small white head. The aroma is what I expected, very nice blending of creamy malts with some grassy hops. The flavour is more or less the same, perfect balance though, not as much of a creamy texture as I was hoping, but still pretty damn good. A very enjoyable beer, and a great cream ale. I think this style is actually kind of neat, and always extremely drinkable!
