Cask sample at 2008 Golden Tap Awards. Hazy golden with a still body and no head. Aroma smells a lot like a Creamsicle, as promised, although with a bit of a jam/marmalade note as well. Soft mouthfeel. Flavour isn’t quite as nice as the aroma promises - something about the combination of the orange and hops gives it a vague medicinal note - but it’s still pretty pleasant and summery.

Cask. At BeerBistro - 2008 Golden Tap Awards. Cloudy light orange pour, pretty much no head. I loved that aroma - didn’t smell much like beer, but who cares - tangy and tart tropical fruit medley, herbal iced tea, and green hops - nice. Taste - oh my, what a let-down - thcik body, but thin and dry malt presence, more than one person claimed it reminded them unpleasantly of citrus bathroom cleanser - I didn’t hate it, but the aftertaste was a bit sour and after the aroma it was all downhill; extra marks for trying something truly unusual.

[1628-20080823] Cask. Orange marmalade cleaner aroma has light pine resin notes. Murky, light orange body with quick white bubbles. More orange pips and citrus cleaner in the flavour with some grapefruit juice. Light-medium body is smooth. Very neatly made, odd cleaner notes.

Overheard: "It smells like wood after you clean it with Pledge."

2008-08-23. Hazy pastel yellow-orange, headless. Big citrusy aroma, dry tangerines and citrus sees, lemon seed. (7+) Flavour is quite tart, and fairly astringent, with the dominant note being astringent citrus seed. Some sweeter citrus or malt to balance it out would have gone along way toward improved drinkability. Average to light palate is not very carbonated but is with acceptable cask ranges. Cool idea, liked the aroma a lot but found the flavour pretty rough. Cask, Golden Tap Awards, Toronto
