COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was originally brewed as a one-off draught beer for our specialty beer bars. The demand was so high for a return that we decided to bottle this one and share it with everyone. A deceptively dark brew that is fermented using lager yeast, our Dark266 is actually a much lighter tasting beer than one would anticipate. One try and we’re sure you’ll "have a dark side" too.

Bottle. Dark ruby tinged brown with a small creamy white head. 3+ Mild aroma of sweet malt, vague chocolate and dark fruit. Hint of yeastiness. Flavour has a malty base, sme nuttiness. Bitter tangy overtures. Hints of cocoa, dry finish. Average palate. Enjoyable but average.

Has a Cameron's aroma too it that reminds me of their other products. Dark amber body, with an off white head. Flavour is malty with some pleasant bitterness. Average, but enjoyable. Could benefit from just a bit more of everything.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2006 Sampled from a bottle, Winking Judge Spring Fest 05. Very dark brown pour. Sweet burn notes in aroma. Heavy malt taste in alight bodied brown ale, also had an odd hint of a root beer like flavour - couldn’t quite place it, may have been just an excess "nutty" peanut shell taste, but it did throw me off. Having said that, I didn’t find this watery at all as others have noted here and on Bartowel and I thought it was a decent brown ale.

Body- Dark brown, thin mocha coloured head. Medium carbonation. Aromas are predominantly nutty, with mild malt and cocoa hints as well. Taste is mild coffee, nutty, very light chocolate, and sweet malt. Nice. Slightly watery finish, medium bodied. Another good beer from Cameron’s!

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2005 Sampled at C’est What’s Spring 2005 Festival of Small Breweries. Slight murky ruby-bown colour. Nice aroma - good chocolate malt character with a bit of brown sugar. Similar malty sweetness in the flavour, a but of smoke, and a fresh hop finish. Very nice.
Earlier Rating: 12/15/2003 Total Score: 2.8
Clear dark amber colour, not as dark as I usually expect from the style. Aroma is muted, with some toastiness and a bit of hops. Body is on the thin side. Flavour is well-balanced, with a bit of chocolate around the middle and mellow hops in the finish, but it lacks character.

Pours dark red with a short tawny head. Aroma is earthy, burnt sugar and a trace of maple. Tinned mushroom and musty. Everything is very soft. Some tobacco, tar and rubber. Burnt green hop in the finish. Odd.
