3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JesseM (940) - Kitchener-Waterloo, - JUL 20, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 6, 2007 Sampled at the Kitchener craft beer show. Pours a nice brown colour with a lot of head. Aroma is faint, but malty. The taste is filled with refreshing malts and a tiny metallic hop finish. Very enjoyable on tap.
2.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Tiger_08 (64) - Sarnia, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 7, 2012
May 7 2012. 341ml bottle pours clear black, dark brown in light. Very carbonated. Small tight tan cap of bubbles dissolves immediately after pour and no lacing. Appears as a cola. Aroma of sweet malt and biscuit hints. Taste is very faint of maple and brown sugar. Carbonation overwhelms both flavour and palate. Not much of a finish or aftertaste either, slight hint of bread. Just way too fizzy.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 yarry (465) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - APR 28, 2012
341ml bottle, 4.5% a/v from Ontario Craft 6 pack, Spring 2012
Pours deep ruby red, looks cola black unless held to a light. Head is light tan and fairly plentiful. Aroma is very malty, roasted nuts, sweet caramel and a hint of carolina tobacco. The taste is also deep, and malty sweet. Some nuts, caramel, and coffee notes. The palace is nice and smooth, very clean for such a dark malty beer, though a bit too carbonated for my liking. Overall, pretty impressive offering from Camerons
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 WheatKing (172) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 25, 2012
This had a much lighter taste than I had expected, and I guess now reading the commercial description I understand why. Dark lagers are the only non-bock bottom-fermenteds that can make my tongue keel over from ecstasy so maybe it’s unfair to rate them too low when disappointed. I actually closed my eyes and tested this against the Camerons Premium Lager and they do taste different so we know at least that at least that they’re not just using food colouring. I know when I say "biscuity" you’re going to think Marris Otter, and this obviously lacks that, but I’ll say it anyhow, for that’s how I perceived it. Everything else is just middle of the road.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mansquito (1815) - washington, Washington DC, USA - MAR 4, 2012
LCBO, Toronto sampler ($8.95): Pours a dark brown colour with a whitish head. Aroma is of nuts, lager, and a wee bit of fruitiness. Taste is much the same. Very simple lager with little creativity; however, everything is mostly in order in this beer. Good session, as are all the other Cameron’s beers, but like his brothers, this little guy ain’t nothing special.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 AWS9 (353) - Mississauga, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 17, 2012
Bottle. Dark brown pour, no head to speak of. Simply malty nut aroma. Thin taste, with mild caramel/malt finish. Not bad, just not really distinctive in any way. Gets the job done I suppose.

Pours clear reddish-brown with a thin white head. English-ale aroma with some pepper notes. Taste starts off with toffee and nuts, moves on to pepper, and finally has a clean, slightly creamy, finish. Slightly watery texture. An good dark lager.
