A deep dark brown ale with a thin brown head. in aroma, sweet dark caramel malt with light woody notes, vanilla, OK. In mouth, a nice sweet vanilla chocolate malt with light maple wood, alcohol warmth, roasted and smooth. Cask at Cask Days 2012.

[4884-20121027] Cask. Mild chocolate roast and wood in the aroma. Black body with a medium-lasting foamy tan head. More burnt roast chocolate malt flavour. Full body. Quite like a porter, good. (7/4/7/3+/14) 3.5

Cask at Cask Days 2012. Twenty-eighth beer of the fest. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a small tan head. Mild but decent aroma of caramel malt along with some chocolate. Flavour of caramel malt, chocolate and hints of maple syrup and smoke. Average to medium bodied. Very easy to drink, I enjoyed it.

2012-10-27. Very dark brown-black body with a nice small tan head. 3++ Pleasant malty flavour, hints of cocoa, sweet malt, light bitterness. 7+ Aroma is similar, mild roast, nice malt character, vaguely English quality to the accents, light acohol, a not quite anise like note to the malt. 7+ Smooth average plus boded palate. Pretty mild and subtle, but very good, very quaffable. I hope this is around again so I can test my theory that it would hold up in a larger sample. Cask Days 2012 at Brick Works, Toronto
