COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cameron’s Doppelbock features imported German malt, a rich dark amber colour, and an aroma full of sweet toffee and caramel encompassing hints of coffee and freshly baked bread. The finish is deliciously complex with a full mouth feel, followed by lasting sweetness.

This one poured a very dark amber colour with a big, beautiful, tan coloured head. To the nose there are scents of red wine, ripe fruit, faint malt vineger and roasted malts. First sip was medium sweet and full flavoured with flavours of toffee and rich caramel with a little smoke and roasted malt. Finish is roasty and sweet with the burnt caramel flavours lingering.

Bottle. Oaky bourbon aroma with vanilla and horehound candy accents. Clear, dark garnet under tawny tan wisps. Sweet vanilla butterscotch oak flavour with not quite assertive hops bitterness that doesn’t quite offset the sweetness. Dominated by bourbon, but still nice. Medium body, medium carbonation, sweet but clean finish.

It pours dark brown, with ruby highlights; the head is tanned and foamy. The aroma has notes of: prunes, sourdough bread, and slight vanilla woodiness. The taste is light sweet that finishes medium bitter; there are notes of: dark bread, slight coffee and slight toffee. The palate is medium-light , the carbonation is medium, and the finish is short. Overall, doesn’t leave much of an impression on the palate - very forgettable.

Pours dark brown with a reddish tint and nearly no head. Smell is fairly sweet with some brown sugar and a bit of dried fruit, plum. Palate is medium bodied with good carbonation. Taste is sweet at first but then gets a pronounced and long-building hoppy bitter taste. Very nice taste, not bad overall.

Bready aroma, some fruit and caramel. Dark black appearance with brown, thin quickly fading head. Taste of grapes and root beer. Okay palate. Overall, a decent beer.

Pours a dark brown with a small brown head that clears to a white ring. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malts and alcohol. Taste is a nice resinous roasted malts with chocolate and toffee. A little boozy but very nice. Thanks to jercraigs for this!

December 2, 2011 - on draught at Volo. Cameron’s are doing some really interesting beers again lately, but this one ... not one of my favorites. Dark reddish-brown with a small diminishing frothy light tan head. Not much aroma, mostly sweet ripe fruit, vague floral bitterness and cocoa. The taste is a little more focused - more bitterness, not much alcohol, still quite malty and sweet, but not cloying - light bodied, sweet, mild carbonation and a quite chocolately finish. Just okay.

On tap at Volo. Not too exciting. Looks and smells the part, but is more bock than doppelbock in taste and body. (Does anyone make bocks anymore?) Nothing wrong with it, but nothing distinctive either.

[4309-20120226] 341mL bottle. Grainy wet leaves malt aroma has a hint of toasted fruit skins. Black brown body with a quick foamy light brown head. Toasted coffee grounds flavour has a lingering light roast malt aftertaste. Medium body has just a light funky tang on the finish. Good, solid brew, fairly drinkable. (7/3/7/3/13) 3.3

Dark and clear white foamy brown head. Good aroma and strong taste. It seemed strong with caramel
