2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - MAR 13, 2012
First tasted this at the Hogshead, Paisley in October 1999. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear straw amber in colour with a thin white head. Dusty hop flowers evident in the short aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a digestive biscuit base with sweet golden syrup notes present in the mouth. Dusty notes of hop resins come through in the brief bitter aftertaste. Weak malty finish with a hint of barley sugar sweetness. A poor session bitter.

Cask guest beer at the Kings Head W2. Decent bright amberish appearance. Not much to say about the aroma. I may have been a bit thirsty as this disappeared very quickly...tasted quenching with malty sweetness but a real lack of complimentary hops to make this beer more interesting. Not really a golden ale - more of a lighter version of a North East brown ale to me.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 kwik-lime (647) - London, ENGLAND - AUG 30, 2010
Light in colour and character, somewhat earthy with a definite grassy character. Fine summer session ale but nothing of interest here.

Cask conditioned handpump Malt Shovel Northampton A golden beer with a white head and lacing. The aroma has a slight citrus note with grassy undertones. Dry in the mouth with leafy characteristics. Just average.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Nekronos (2655) - Xalapa, MEXICO - JUL 28, 2006
I do not know why I have forgotten about this one, but the taste was really malty, not so golden in colour but nice.

Cask (handpump) at the Colonies, Westminster. After harrisoni’s dastardly ruse to prevent me rating this beer (I suppose I could have bought another half, but harrisoni’s grimacing as he downed the original sample rather put me off), I was quite pleased to see this at my very next pub visit. Not that bad really. Pale, straw colour. As this is supposedly a recreation of a beer from the 60’s, I wouldn’t have expected an aromatic modern style blonde ale. And it isn’t. Crisp and clean, with citric but earthy hop character. Some residual sweetness. Not really a lot to it, but went down nicely enough.

Cask@Battersea Beer Festival. Not much going on, quite thin. Blonde in colourm citric, with a touch of salty bitterness, not much body though.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 harrisoni (10070) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - FEB 11, 2006
Cask conditioned, gravity at Battersea Beer Festival 2006. I really do have to apologise to Chris_o on this one. I disliked it so much, I had to get rid of it by drinking it before he could rate it. Sorry Chris. As I said, I don’t like Camerons beers and I didn’t like this. Some farty yeasty aroma and then a bit of hop on the end. Not to my style
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Ungstrup (23960) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - JUL 15, 2005
[Cask at GBBF 2004] A hazy orange beer with a fine beige head. The aroma is sweet and fruity, while the flavor is fruity with a dry end combined with some notes of metal and a thin body.
