berkshirejohn (4903) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 13, 2015
Cask at the Rose and Crown, Sandhurst. An attractive copper colour with a loose cream head; floral, lightly malted aroma; fruity, strawberry taste, with some light carmael; and a dry, fresh finish. I was quite taken by this, it was a light, summery, refined bitter, not what I was expecting - makes me wonder if there was a mix up with the lines at the pub.

On cask at The Globe, Hartlepool Headland. Pours ruby red with a froth the size of Kilimanjaro. A little spice with a funny tinge. OK. Read my review of the Globe in Hartlepool Headland for the unusual dispense.

Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford. Poured a clear ruby, with a dense off-white head. Malty aroma, reminiscent of a Scottish beer (80/- or... some number of shillings...). Toffee and boiled sweet notes as well. Grain in the flavour, with some fruitcake and cough syrup. Finish was light grassy hop, toasted malt and biscuit.
