COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottled, 330ml from Beers of Europe, Norfolk. Gold with slight head and big thick floaters. Quite fizzed in the body but flat on the palate, lots of floaters, yeasty with touches of soggy cardboard. Some sweet, slightly burnt caramel notes then just hints of fruitiness. Not the best of Belgian Ales.

Hazy dark orange with lots of yeast. Smells candy sweet and (Dutch:) Roze kermis zoetstok. Tastes like a hefe weizen, too sweet. No carbo at all, medium body.

A Mes rate. Bottle from beermerchants.com. Dark amber with a thin off white head. Far too many floaters. Sweet and astringent on the nose with a clear hit of emulsion. Metallic and yeasty flavour with very little of anything enjoyable. Not a great beer.

Café Belge in Eastbourne. I’d been wanting to try Campus since I bought a Campus glass at GBBF some years ago. I was a little disappointed that the glass shape had changed and my drink was brought in a glass shape I didn’t recognize. Anyway, the beer was ruddy, rusty, rotten & ripe. It had a fruity sweetness with minimal hopping. It came over as a strong, sweet Belgian version of a British Autumn Ale. Sweet, spicy, faintly wheaty citric notes in the aroma. Not my thing.

Golden orange beer.More like a glass of whiskey.Nose of this was like is this beer or what??Nothing stood out and I was a little dissappointed that a Belgian Strong ale could be so nondescript. Some fruits but sour and not that normal sweetness.
