2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light hazy amber with a decent head that disappeared fairly quickly. Aroma of apple cider and yeast. Taste of apple and sweetness, light body, low to medium carbonation. Short not particularly bitter palate. Not very impressive overall.

Pours a hazy tan. Enormous head. Sweet and somewhat malty. A drinkable beer compared to most Israeli beers. Lots of sediment.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Süß getreidiger Antrunk, etwas malzig, eigen aber harmonisch wirkend. Im Mittelteil etwas würziger, angenehm, das Malz steigert sich weiter. Etwas klebrig im Abgang, wässrig-süß, wenig muffig. Gelungen!

2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle from a Jerusalem convenience store.
Pours brown and very cloudy with a medium-light tan head.
Aroma is "beery" sweet with some wine-like hints.
If only the flavor followed through! Watery, very sweet, no bitterness to speak of, some yeastyness, and a very strange sour note, with a bread-like aftertaste. That sour taste was not very nice, poured the bottle out after about 2/3s of it.
I guess Israel just isn’t a beer country:(

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: OCT 2, 2008 Re-rate 10/9/07: (Note: this beer is obviously very infected, but I’m rating it anyway, since I’ve heard a lot of fellow Israeli beer lovers who said their bottles of Canaan shared such infected "qualities" to some extent or another) Bottle. Cloudy amber with a medium off white head. Aroma with a bit of malt and a bit of spices, but mostly a really bad smell that I actually don’t really know how to define, but indicates something’s gone very wrong with this beer. Flavor has a tiny bit of malt sweetness in the beginning, and very quicly turns into, rotten, sour, infected yeast - YUCK. Medium-bodied (I had to struggle to take another sip to detect body). Disgusting. This is obviously a very different beer than the batch I had last time. 3/3/2/2/4=1.4
Bottle. Brown-red color with a medium off-white head. Nice aroma of malt, caramal, maybe some notes of dark fruits. Flavor is sweet - malt, caramel, alcohol, a bit of sourness. Medium-bodied, lots of carbonation (a bit too much). 7/4/6/3/13=3.3

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
0.75 bottle. Big and long lasting head, cloudy, mild sweetness, a little unpleasant sourness. Alcohol too pronounced, masking other flavours, and making the beer appear one dimensional. Not a bad effort as a beginning, needs a bit of refining. Looking forward to tasting it again in the future.
